Unless there's a simple way to make the font match these formats you keep talking about (without changing the font face or screwing it up for people with an OS other than UNIX), I doubt it'll happen. Sorry. Feel free to post just how I'd go about it though.

 

What do other people think of the site? I do appreciate any opinions (including criticism). Does the background look okay in 1600x1200 now, or is it still screwed up? My graphics card won't let me use that resolution, so I can't tell.

As I said before, the font problem would just go away if you didn't require it by rendering some sections of plain text as images in that font. And, were you to fix that, the following things would happen as a pleasant side effect:

• Pages would be a smaller download
  
• The site, as a whole, would take up less space
  
• You'd use less bandwidth
  
• The site would work in text-only browsers
  
• The site would be coherent to someone that isn't using a browser
  
• Those menus you were talking about would display properly for anyone using Internet Explorer, IE the other 90% of the population
  
• The site would have a better chance of fitting on a small screen
  
• On larger screens, there will be less wasted space
  

...And no, you didn't fix the black bar. It still shows up in 1792x1344.
