My Vampires have no faces. T_T

Okay for starters I am only slightly skilled at using the TES (I can alter things that already exist sort of and can make my own races, but I'm way better with Oblivion modding and that isn't saying much). And I'm not sure if it matters (l'm still looking into it all to see but) I also have Vampire Embrace, Vampire Realism II, Vampire Hunger and some of Alienslof's complimenting vampire mods like vampire scent.

We are using Better Bodies and to go with it better heads. We have Alienslof's Vampire Faces and Westly's master head pack. But I don't believe Westly's head pack includes vampires. Alienslof's vampire faces loads last. I have tried to turn Alienslof's Vampire Faces off, no face. I remove all of Better Heads with Alienslof's on, no faces. Tried without either one running, no faces plus errors. NPC vampires have faces, but not the PC.

So now all you expert-types out there I call upon thee for aid (or some such noble sounding begging ^_^). I really just want a face for my vampire PC, whether or not it be pretty it would be better than hair upon a void. lol

Thanks in advance,

Seidon and Cyrus

Temp fix found, using enableracemenu I can force it to use the correct head by simply choosing my head again. *shrugs* At least it's something but still looking for a more permanent fix.

Well at least they don't sparkel

True. not helpful but true.

(They can sparkle, too? )

They can't. GETbacon referred to vampires of the Twilight film.

But I would say you have some mods wrongly installed or Alienslof's Vampire Faces and Westly's master head pack conflict with each other for some reason.

If it's of any use, then I had other mods replacing vampire heads through .esp's not working with SOME of Westly's Master head pack heads - in the same way you describe. Some other heads worked normally.

Hmm. I thought it might be that because if I load the game right after doing the enableracemenu cheat then turn into a vampire it works just fine. Loads heads on the head on its own and everything. *shrugs* Well I guess I'll just be using enableracemenu for a while then huh? lol Thanks.

EDIT: Actually now that I've had more time to tear it all apart I'm thinking it could have something to do with the scripting of Vampire Illusion but I really can't say for sure. That mod is seemingly assuming the original head is a stock head so... Eh, could be it.

Well I do know that according to the Readme in Vampire Illusion it includes a script that would allow you to physically make your head like the original non-vampire version of yourself. And according to the Readme it causes the game to treat you as if you weren't a vampire at all. You lose all the Vampire Embrace Dialogue options and what have you.

But if you had this problem as well.... If I may what did you eventually wind up doing about it? It seems you can play totally fine if you just use the console to give yourself a face so...

The problem is that there are some characters using Westly's Heads that are rather high level and I'm not sure what would happen to them if I changed it, but I guess the fix would be the same, enableracemenu.

I eventually switched off Westly's headpack - for different reason, it just gave me too much choices. But in your case I would just switch the head to one that works with vampiric ones.

It would be mostly "try and see what happens", for each head you like, just note that ~enablestatreviewmenu removes your spells, but not every time, at least if you edit name or race of your character (not birthsign). I noticed that it doesn't generally make trouble if using it after freshly launching the game. Unfortunately sometimes it not only steals spells, but also resets class and level.

So, you know the procedure. First carefully do ~enablestatreviewmenu, make sure it didn't mess with anything, then save, do ~Set PCVampire to 1, make sure the head appears, reload. In my case doing the ~Set PCVampire to 0 was less useful than reloading, as character's head disappears every time and it's just a timewaste to set it again. Just note that this way of inflicting vampirism is for test purpose only, it's useless for playing. And uninteresting.

Thanks. Sound advice. I know what you mean about too many choices. lol

I was wondering, I was messing around in the Toolset and I noticed that I couldn't assign any of Westly's heads to any of the NPC's I was trying to make, which should work if I pull the mesh directly out of the folder. Except that it kept telling me that I couldn't have a file with more than 32 characters in the name. This is because there were like five subfolders. Could that be a problem for the game finding information, potentially causing errors elsewhere? Maybe not specifically the vampire faceless issue, but maybe could potentially cause others. I don't know.

Either way thanks for the constructive help, Sarya. ^_^
