devinpatterson
Would anybody be interested in a Hearthfire mod for NV? If you havn't played the dlc it lets you add amenities, new rooms, a trophy room etc to some set locations to create a more detailed player home. I think there are a lot of locations in NV that could qualify for the mod.
devinpatterson
quick blurb on teh skyrim dlc; With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.
JimboUK
I think something like that would be go down very well, you could expend on it and maybe do something like Bloodmoons Ravens Rock.
ZaySk
Eff-ing hell yes. Please do this. I will create multiple different accounts just to endorse it multiple times if you do. (Note - That's a joke, I won't actually do that mods!)
RoyBatterian
I WANT THIS. Really really want something like it anyways. I want a huge armory to display my endless guns and stuff from all the gun mods. Armor mannequins would great too... but gun racks. Building your own home has kinda sorta been done with Afterschool Special already, and that's a great mod, especially with sortomatic integration. devinpatterson
OK lets start putting it together and see how it goes. Where's the first spot. Room in the tops, wolfhorn ranch, what sounds like a good spot for our beta test?
RoyBatterian
Some place no other mod comes close to using would be nice. There are many locations in the middle of nowhere that could be used.
Mantis421
The idea I think would be good basing it off the same chain "The Bison Steve" has where you have to take multiple steps to reopen the casino. You could follow the same multi step. A short list of characters maybe Cass, Veronica, Boone to a couple NPC like the Atomic Wrangler crier. A dialog option "I may like you better if you had a home. starting a quest line having to collect scrap metal and electronics. and finding multiple catches of building materials and caps that you then could use to build in one to three towns , once complete the person you first talked to is willing to move to the house, bunker ect you built. "Hidden Bunker" is another Mod that was a very useful and stable Mod that could be used as a template idea. Each arm or the section, kitchen, bedroom, armory and mini planting room. Mantis421
Other ways of approaching this is using the Sink home as an example of how a bunker would look, Ex you find an abandoned house or bunker in rubble you collection tasks unlock or restore a section of the structure, to add realism of sorts some of the task having to do also is having a full grown planting room and stocked kitchen food items and water above a certain level before the potential bride would agree, maybe to simplify a little the bride does not have to be a companion, stays at he home, but makes periodic requests if needs something. devinpatterson
The idea I think would be good basing it off the same chain "The Bison Steve" has where you have to take multiple steps to reopen the casino. Thanks for the input, but I'm less concerned about the actual mechanics (which I believe I have a handle on) as opposed to what locations and themes you (and other players) would find interesting. Other ways of approaching this is using the Sink home as an example of how a bunker would look, Yeah I do love the AI appliances. Dialog quests are a pain in the butt, but for some cool AIs I'd be willing to put them together. There was a comic that the lead developer sort of based the idea of the sink appliances on (don't remember the name at the moment, trans something). I'm going to peruse it and mine it for additional material. So some AI ideas would be cool too. Maybe also include some bots. Say for example, "Nukey" (a nuka cola promotional protectron) is a little bot that would fit well in a home environment; preview; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/FONV%20Mods-works%20in%20progress/NukySmall_zps8dab695d.jpg Full pic; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/FONV%20Mods-works%20in%20progress/Nuky_zps7b8e19a6.jpg I imagine him/it as disgustingly happy and upbeat, always exalting the virtues of nuka cola. then for themes some of that will be determined by location (in a casio is going to be gambling themed, in a cave, survival etc), but will it have a faction theme, a low tech, high tech, product theme (nuka cola), personal theme of the previous occupant or creature etc, etc. So what I'm essentially asking for is creative ideas that we can sift through and pick the best of. Here is one theme based on compact size (and NCR) in a small office. It's the room in Hoover just before you head up to the vertibird pad; Pics; http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/NCRhome_zps931f2dd1.jpg http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/couchAsBed_zps5d212454.jpg The desk has a mini workbench and reloading bench to save space. The couch has been converted so it can be sat on or slept on.
