Umberstone
I was looking over my new character's stats and was surprised to see an assault on his record. I wanted my character to have a clean criminal record and I also intend to join the fighters guild. Is there a way to edit this information? Sharkull
You can't use sneak attacks without getting credit for an "assault". You shouldn't get infamy / bounty unless you attack a friendly character though. You can still join the Fighters Guild if you don't have high infamy... "assault" stats aren't considered (AFAIK). Sarya
Infamy isn't, either. Only bounty. Knights of the Nine are the only ones to ban off characters with infamy.

Umberstone
Thanks for all the responses. Are Infamy and bounty the only stats that people/Gods react to? Are stats like "items stolen" and "trespasses" just for fun like the "jokes told" stat? I didn't try to capture the Greyfox because I wasn't sure if the game would let you turn him in and I didn't want to be branded a thief.
Sharkull
If you steal / trespass without getting caught, there are no in-game consequences (AFAIK). Those stats are just listed for informational purposes. Murder has consequences though... even if you aren't caught. The factions you join also affect NPC reactions. I think that after you steal enough items your infamy will raise

Aside from the initial effects of performing that action, most don't relate to anything important.
