Hi,

I am trying to change the description text on my mod, using bold and colours etc.

I have tried using the bbcodes from the wiki.

as in [ b ] Bold [ /b ]

which ends up showing the bbcode on the page

I have tried the following suggestion from the wiki

"A good idea is to make a post on the forums, where you have access to post previews and BBcode toolbar. Then copy the whole thing (Ctrl-C) and paste it into the description or article (Ctrl-V). Then, discard the post."

and it ends up as plain text with the formating lost when I paste and publish it.

What am I doing wrong?

Below is the formatting I am trying to use, instead I get plain text. I can copy it from forum post to forum post but not to the mod description page.

CHANGES TO THE QUEST NAME FIELD.

WHY: I needed something to help me work out which quests belonged to which quest lines at an easy glance of the left hand pane. Perhaps others will also find it useful.

WHAT: Adds information such as Main Quest, Arch Mage, Mage College, Thieves Guild, Thieves Business, Skaal Village etc etc to the Quest Names field in the left hand pane of the journal.

-Quests that fall under the Miscelaneous section have not been edited.

-Quest stages and quest objectives fields (right hand pane) have not been edited.

DIFFERENT VERSIONS.

MAIN FILES

STANDARD: All major and minor quest lines are labeled to reflect their content. This version may spoil any mystery for some of the minor quest lines such as Daedric quests.

AbsentMindedVanilla

AbsentMindedVanillaDawnguard

AbsentMindedVanillaDawnguardDragonborn

MYSTERY VERSION: All major and the bulk of minor quest lines are labeled to reflect their content. Some minor quest lines such as Daedric do not show that they are Daedric to better hide their eventual outcome and retain their mystery.

Mystery Version - AbsentMindedVanilla

Mystery Version - AbsentMindedVanillaDawnguard

Mystery Version - AbsentMindedVanillaDawnguardDragonborn

OPTIONAL FILES - PATCHES

Patch for Unofficial Skyrim Patch (USKP) to ensure that the changes made by USKP to quests are not lost by the use of this mod.Requires Unofficial Skyrim Patch as a Master file.

Standard Version - AbsentUSKPPatchA.esp

Mystery Version - AbsentUSKPPatchB Mystery.esp

Load after Main File, any version.

Patch for Even Better Quest Objectives (EBQO). Requires Even Better Quest Objectives as a Master file.

Standard Version - AbsentEBQOPatchStandard.esp

Mystery Version - AbsentEBQOPatchMystery.esp

Load order for AbsentEBQOPatch

-Main File

-Even Better Quest Objectives

-AbsentEBQOPatch

Do not use with USKP patch. Any changes in USKP that are affected by Main File are fixed in EBQO and AbsentEBQOPatch.

UPDATE: 13-04-2014

There is now a patch for Even Better Quest Objectives.

UPDATE: 12-04-2014

There is now a Mystery Version available. Quests such as the Daedric quests no longer show as being Daedric and now show the location or similar related to where the quest was first started.

There is also a USKP patch for these, works for all three version.

UPDATE: 12-04-2014

There is now a patch for the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (USKP) to ensure the changes to quests made by USKP are not over written by this mod.

Load after Main File.

Works for all three versions, Vanilla, Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

Have fun and good hunting.

I just tried the bold on one of my description pages. It is hard to tell but it actually works.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21132/?

Go down to the Files & Folders section.

The first folder listing is in bold. You can tell the difference by looking at the other folder listings. The one in bold takes up a little bit more width than the others.

Also that quote about using the forums to test your coding, it no longer works. There was a time when it did but at some point the forum software was modified or updated and now after previewing many manually typed codes become embedded and no longer visible for copying.

The best way now to see what works on your description page is to inflate your page views by putting code in and seeing what happens before you publish the mod.
