Menus in Real Time

Hey gang, I browsed the forum for a bit and tried a search to no avail, and quite frankly I don't have the patience to do so any longer.

Can anyone tell me if there is a mod that makes bartering, accessing your pip-boy, etc all occur in real-time rather than pausing the in-game timescale?

The reason I ask for this is for instance: "Craterside Supply is not open yet, I'd love to walk down to Moriarty's and have a drink and wait for her to open but I spend so much time in menus talking to Gob, buying the drink, drinking the drink, etc. that even though it takes me 5 minutes for this to happen, in game hardly any time at all has passed."

I know I could use the wait feature but lets face it, as RP'ing goes....using the wait feature is kinda lame.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

'Unfortunately' not. But they've done it for the exact reason you told, the game freezes around you. It's primarily done so because things outside will not interfere with you. So NPCs will not be killed while you're talking to them and it's the only way to let the player respond in the game.

I can't recall when and where but there might be a mod that tracks the time spend in menu-mode and changing is when you're back playing in the gamemode.

You should play stalker, it doesn't freeze the world around you,

it's a bit funny, and a bit annoying, for instance I'll be checking my inventory, and I'll get attacked suddenly and have to quickly whip out a weapon

I was just thinking about this mod, I would really like it to be in real time though. It would be cool to see people walking around when your talking or bartering say like in "Rivet City Market" you could see people drinking and eating at Gary's while buying something from Flak or Shrapnel (those guy's should have there own game)

Same thing with Gothic II. It were different, but not that bad, once you got used to it. Or, well, it were annoying that you could only walk when checking your inventory.

So no one knows of a mod that even modifies the game time after leaving the menu?

Its ok if it isn't a true real-time menu...I'm not that picky....though that would be cool....

The closest that I've seen is my own real-time security overhaul, but it works by removing the hacking and lockpicking menu all together, thereby sidestepping the problem.

In Oblivion there was a mod that tracked the time spent in menu and then modified the time when you left the menu

If you can find which one that was it might be able to create a port to F03. Although that the mod Zumbs linked to is quite promising at itself.

That was it. I don't know how to make a port of a mod, I may look into it later today just to see if its difficult or not. I have basically no modding experience. I created an NPC in Oblivion but all I did was copy another change some of his stats and facial features, rename him and plop him down somewhere. Thats all.
