Dagoth Ur's Mask

After reviewing Vaanic One's post in this topic, talking about how Dagoth Ur mutated, I realized that I have always been wondering, where did his mask come from? And why does he wear it?

I have looked in the construction set, and have looked at him in it and I know that he cannot take it off (at least in the game, I don't know about whether or not he really can). Just a little bit of curiosity.

It is purely ceremonial -- a symbol of power that he either forged himself, or otherwise received, and wears to exemplify his position.

 

As for what it is, in objective terms, I'd say it's a pumpkin -- and he can't take it off because he has really bad hat-hair.

Yeah Ur's mask, and Vivec's Ashmask (in Gnisis temple) cant be worn or even picked up. It sucks cause I'd totally wear them lol

I believe that it is a Dwemer mask, it definitely looks like it is. It's golden/bronze, like everything the dawrves created. It's also in the likeness of a Dwemer ghost, as well. The way that Dagoth Ur symbolizes himself matches with why he would wear it. I think that it is probably a Dwemer mask. Perhaps it's a mask that Royal Dwemeri wore, or maybe just some commoner's mask. I say it's Dwemer.

I thnk it is just the fact that ash landers masks are their way of letting other races know that they are ashlanders and not normal Dunmer.

 

But this is just my theory.
