pufthemajicdragon
I've developed a mod that utilizes content from another game. I have permission from that game's intellectual property owner to distribute my mod for non-commercial purposes. The problem is, if I upload it to Nexus, legally speaking Nexus would be distributing it for commercial purposes and would be liable. In fact, any website that charges any kind of fees for membership or file downloads is out of the question. And I like TESNexus, so I don't want to put them in a corner like that. So I need a mirror. Does anybody know of some good sites that are completely free and non-commercial where I could host my file? Or does anybody have a crapload of extra bandwidth on their web server and want to host it for me? Thanks! :edit:P.S.If any mods come across this and want to change the "hose" in my topic description to "host", that'd be great. It's 1 am, need I say more?Done, Bben46, Moderator

Nexus only charges for Premium Membership which is optional, you don't actually need that to download files. As long as all your permissions are in order you could host it here: http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/

As long as all your permissions are in order you could host it here: http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/ Nexus' fees make it (at the very least) a gray area, and I've seen mods taken down before that hovered inside it. I hadn't thought of filefront and they didn't turn up when I did a quick web search for "oblivion mod downloads" and the like. I hate their annoying ads, but they might just work - after reading their TOS I think they will. Thanks :)

pufthemajicdragon
I've gone ahead and used Filefront. The mod in question can be found here: http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/Cry...Nanosuit;106679 If a Nexus site admin runs across this and tells me it's ok to host it here, I'll go ahead and do so. I much prefer Nexus to any other mod site :) Below is the e-mail from Crytek regarding distribution rights: Hello, Having just spoken to a member of our legal team, there is no issue with community members using our models or sounds as long as they are not used for commercial use (You must not make any money from them). Pronam
Wow, you're lucky...and how generous they are to agree with. Lol, although they aren't that liberal about their engine, but I understand that one. You might consider sending a PM to Dark0ne as he might miss the topic. There are a few admins, but he probably has the last word about it.
