AncientSpaceAeon
Simple really, all I need is : - You set your Oblivion graphical settings in to the lowest and fastest quality. (except maybe "view distance", can be set between 25% to 50%.- After you save your settings, attach on your post your Oblivion.ini from the My Games folder. I'm asking this because I can't set my graphical settings in Oblivion without getting crashed. I'm playing a no-gaming notebook, I don't think my (NOT FOR GAMING) graphic card can do it. I want this because I can't access my gaming pc, and I probably just need to play Oblivion for testing my mod, nothing else. If anyone can help (which is anyone who have Oblivion), I'm more than happy to accept. But . . . I don't know if this legal or not, I think it's legal, but IF it's not, moderators should close this topic. Many :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: if you could help. xxXEvandarXxx
Have you tried going to options in the Oblivion launcher and setting it to the lowest quality available from there?
AncientSpaceAeon
Yup, it can do very little. (my notebook are so not for gaming) So I really need the .ini file.
Pronam
Delete the old .ini file. Get the Oblivion Fast Saver mod...Your problem could be solved then. Or is it occurring when you change them in the first place? Can't you set them at lowest in windows and load a new game without problems? You don't want someone else's .ini as there is more than just graphics.
AncientSpaceAeon
You don't want someone else's .ini as there is more than just graphics. Then maybe the vanilla one. And sorry to say your suggestion didn't work, and I can't find the mod. I could do it myself, but I'm not that good with numbers. P.S : A tweaked one would be nice. Vagrant0
most of this probably won't work since it's videocard dependent, but you might be able to replace those lines you know are linked to Some other changes might be needed. Going into the launcher options and clicking "very low", then going into the game options from the main menu (moving map background) should allow other options. Oddly enough, this didn't improve my performance one bit compared to my normal settings. So either my own videocard is trashed, or there are other problems with my system which are slowing everything down. Anyway, hope this helps. You might also want to look into Oldblivion. I believe it simplifies many things graphically which allows older computers without DX9 enabled cards to run the game.
bben46
As the main purpose of the ini is to set up the game to work with your hardware, using some one elses ini will not work. And could possibly damage your video system by trying to force it to run at a setting it was not designed for. When you first install the game it looks at your system and tries to set your ini for what it finds, If it cannot identify your video card it uses the lowest setting. If you still cannot get Oblivion to run, your computer is not compatible. Go here to see if your computer can run the game You will find Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, OblivionFallout3 as Fallout3 PC http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
AncientSpaceAeon
Well thanks to everyone. At least I could play it better now. And to bben, I knew my notebook not for playing video games, especially Oblivion, but at least I can play something and test my mod. Thanks again !!!
