D'oh
This is my first post anywhere. I felt compelled to post because MW is the only game I've ever played for this long. Most games I play for maybe a month or 2 or until I've completed it and then it gets put on the shelf. I've been playing MW off and on since it first came out and I'm still not sick of it. That is quite an accomplishment. God bless Bethesda. I've certainly got my moneys worth out of this game. The graphics are great. The sounds are good. The story is good. The mods are excellent. The whole game is just fantastic. My only complaint is that it crashes alot. Locks up my computer and I have to reboot. Other than that I am more than pleased with this game. Or maybe I should just admit that Morrowind is my new home and be done with it. :D Anyway I could go on and on about how incredible this game is, but I think I'll stop here before I start sounding silly. If that hasn't already happened. Give a shout, a flame, a reply or just throw something at me. :P
Marxist ßastard
Yeah, good fer you... It seems that I, also, just got here. As for the crashes, you should run Morrowind with less background applications. Hardware also matters quite a bit. I've just upgraded from an overclocked Thunderbird and a KG7 to an Athlon XP 2500+ and an A7N8X. On the former, I'd have to kill every application, the shell included, and save every five minutes. On the latter, I've only had one odd crash so far. If you have the money, you should also install Windows 2000 so that your system doesn't freeze when Morrowind crashes. D'oh
Thanks for the advice. I've been meaning to upgrade windows. I'm using windows 98. I'll try getting rid of all the background junk and try that.

DreamOfTheRood
Over the past two or three weeks, I've been blurring the line a bit between the fantastic world of Vvardenfell and the mundane (but not yet magic-less) real world. Tonight, I was driving around while the power was out, wondering what I was going to do when I got back to Balmora. Seriously. I'm not kidding. I was just kind of spaced out and blurring the line between the worlds.I'm getting my wisdom teeth yanked tomorrow, and I hope I don't dream a dirty dream about Eydis Fire-Eye while under the knife. Knowing my luck, I'll probably have hypnogogic hallucinations of wrapping my hands around the throat of Fargoth.

D'oh
Thanks for the info Marxist. Hopefully that'll help. Dreamoftherood should watch that blurring of reality while driving around. He's driving along and sees a large lady in a flower print dress. "OGRIM!!! Must KILL" Seriously tho. I've done that myself many times. Thinking about what I'm going to do when I get back to Balmora or wherever. Check out the action at the Eight plates. That kind of thing. :D Hopefully this won't turn into one of those "You know you've been playing MW too long when..." threads. They just go on forever. miltonic
Hmm, not sure if you overclock, but I noticed Morrowind doesn't like heavy overclocking. If I try over clocking from 2.8 Ghz to 3.3 Ghz, Morrowind tends to freeze. Other programs don't, go figure.
Switch
Hopefully this won't turn into one of those "You know you've been playing MW too long when..." threads. They just go on forever.*arms anti-spam rifle* dont worry... if it does, i'll nuke it :P also what the hell is overclocking? :P not that i want to learn how to i daresay it'd fry my mind (or blow up my PC) :P
miltonic
Overclocking: A way to change your hardware settings in order to push your computer faster than it's default settings. There are many good sites to learn how to overclock, but I would read up first before making any changes. I mildly overclock my system. I'm using a 2.8 Ghz Pentium chip, and ramped it up a bit so it is now running at 3.2 Ghz in stable condition. Any higher than this, and Morrowind seemes to not like it, but other games work ok. Some extreme overclockers can get a 2.8 Ghz chip beyond 3.7 Ghz, but your risking damaging your system unless you can properly cool it so it doesn't overheat.
