nexus464
Hi all I've been playing Oblivion for a long time, my first RPG, now I got Fallout 3 and all the DLCs, Installed the whole package and patc 1.7 My questions please: Should I leave the DLC unticked in the data loader untill the main quest is finished? If I load them from the beginning will it affect my "raw" game? Second and last qustion, I've noticed while playing oblivion that leveling was very fast, I would like to ad a pace changer mod, is streching the levels x2 ~ x3 times a good choice for a beginner ? I'm about to leave Vault 101 and alrady have 150/200 XP, and I would like to install a leveling mode now before exiting. Many thanks in advance. gsmanners
Broken Steel will affect the game adversely, so don't activate that until you're at least level 19 or you're ready to finish the main quest (it will end the game the first time around, so make sure to save a lot). The other DLCs are less problematic, so I think you can start with those activated no problem. You definitely want to pace yourself as much as you can, although I always try to get to level 7 ASAP. The main problem is the level cap (20 or 30 if you activate BS). To start with, try to avoid running into the same group of raiders and super mutants more than once. nexus464
Thanks gsmanners, I will manage my DLCs per you suggestion, about change of pace, you suggestion is to actually pace myself in a way of holding my self back.My question was about using mods that change the required XP for leveling up by a factor of x1.5 , x2 or x3, any suggestions? gsmanners
Well, IMHO the No more respawns is the way to go. This lets you play on Hard or even Very Hard, and not have to worry too much about leveling up too fast.
nexus464
Thanks gsmanners , I'm a complete beginner playing on normal, I'm thinking of loading a mod like Slower_Levels or Extreme_Lavelling that allows for increasing the required gaines XP for levelling. Has anyone used them, any recommendations? Thanks
erenoth02
I dunno about everyone else but Ive had fallout for about a year now not to long after it came out im not a huge gamer but i play it often enough and after all this time my character has just reached lever 19 Woot lol so im not constantly dying i just got my power armor activated and now im pretty happy with wear im at i can finally take a fair ammout of damage before I conk out, Personally I would reccoment Point Lookout I love it, its a little more challanging but the charachters are terribly fast like the sheowolf or feared Nightstalker so you can easily cruse along and level up, i loved the storyline and i often travel back to pick up more Delicious punja fruit lol. And about oblivion lol, I preordered that game and im still only about half way through lol, might have somthing to do with all the extra DLC i bought and ive probably got every expansion mod i can fit into it gotta love it, Im up to 20 gig in space lol so im keeping it on a drive of its own but i wouldnt trade that for the world lol Its somthing with alot of replayability just like fallout wil be im sure Going back a few years I must admit I never finished morriwind and i probably only explored 1/2 of all the expansiv areas. lol
nexus464
Thanks erenoth02 I really envy you for playing oblivion, the best RPG for me so far. You should do all the guilds, including the assassins guild when offered, all the dlc are fine, I only didn't play as vampire. About fallout 3, my concern about levelling too fast is that I might miss some quests, or stuff happening, due to high level so I included a mod that requiers 50% more XP for levelling.
