Faust870
I was reading the paper a couple weeks ago.... and I read this article about another tomb being discovered. Article Here I have a problem with this... the whole digging up the site and taking everything for studying and then to a museum... the Egyptians had their own beliefs...and we interrupt these beliefs by moving them from their final resting grounds... It would be like someone going and digging up a graveyard with your family in it... I don't agree... I can see in a sense why its a good thing... because these artifacts will still survive time,... just in a museum. but it is kind of cool that they think it might be Queen Nefertiti
Malchik
I am not quite clear from your post whether you are in favour of official grave robbing to save the contents or against on principle? Whatever your beliefs you can guarantee there are millions of people out there who would willingly desecrate tombs for financial advantage. This has been happening since the Egyptians first constructed them and no doubt to all societies before or since. These days you also get fanatics who believe they should destroy all evidence of other religions (the Taleban in Afghanistan come to mind). So I'm in favour of doing anything that protects history for posterity. But let us not get me started on religion. It is banned on these forums for very good reasons. Switch
I have to agree with Malchik. Perhaps it is a little disrespectful, but what's more disrespectful is the tomb raiders looting and pillaging these places. And in the end, if the museums don't get to them first, the tomb raiders will, and they're not exactly into preserving anything that isn't shiney or golden. ^^;

Yeah I was tad impaired for that post,... I'm against the principle of it... but I do agree with offical grave robbing, but only as a way to perserve the artifacts retrieved from the tombs... Its just a shame that they can't be left alone, thats all... It is better for them to go into museums because they will stand a chance against the fight of time,... but would you want your deceased body up on display?
