MtB
I'm new to the world of modding and I've pretty much mastered snapping bits together into forming a vault or cavern. Now I want to move onto retexturing things. I want to add a lot more posters, raider grafs, and pictures to Fallout 3 but I don't know what to do. I understand the process involves nifskope (which I have downloaded), .nif files, .dds files and their _n.dds transparencies. I even downloaded some kind of plug-in for Photoshop in relation to the .dds files. There, however, seems to be no decent tutorials out there on how all these things work together, so I am wondering if anyone can explain to me (and other budding modders) in a step-by-step guide precisely what to do in the retexturing/creation of posters, grafs, and whatnot - or can anyone point me to a place where a tutorial such as this is to be found. Not only do I want help with this I'd like information on how to retain a texture's transparancy with regards to grafs (as in the part of the picture that isn't coloured), how to create the blue -n.dds file, and what size of image they should ideally be. csb
Also, in Fallout3 Nexus, do a Search on "Tutorial" and "Guide" ... you'll find a bunch related to modding. Miax has a great Nifscope, Blender, Geck tutorial, for instance.
