TheCollector2
Hi everyone, I've recently run into a serious problem with my Main Quest in Oblivion. I do not wish to skip the quest by using the console commands but I need a solution to getting the Wayward Knight Oblivion gate to spawn. Essentially, I talked to the count who told me to talk to Amminus Gregori. I spoke to him while he was asleep in rosethorn and he told me all about the oblivion gate etc. However, since the very beginning of the game the Cheydinhal Oblivion gate never spawned, doesn't have a marker, and almost doesn't exist. I began to wonder if maybe I had closed it before the quest could start, but that shouldn't be possible and I would have run into Farwil. So at the moment I spoke to Amminus and see guards standing and staring at a barren empty hill that has no map marker. I am currently running the Unofficial Oblivion patch with the Unofficial Mod patch as well. Is there anyway to get this gate to spawn so that I can go in and complete the quest and turn it in to the count? Preferably without skipping the content. Thanks! LFact
I am currently running the Unofficial Oblivion patch with the Unofficial Mod patch as well. Did you do 'Attack on Fort Sutch', a quest that does not have Journal entry? I mean, did you close the gate near Fort Sutch? UOP can cause problem with that, for it will close all city gates after you do the quest. There's a fix for that, well.
TheCollector2
Actually I DID close the gate near Fort Sutch. The one with all the Imperial Legion guards watching it? I figured I was in the area so I might as well close the gate. That closed ALL OF THEM!? Actually it only seems to have closed the Cheydinhal one because the one by Bruma and other provinces were still open. Thanks for the link, I'll let you know if it works! TheCollector2
Dear LFact, Thank you for saving my game file! The hotfix indeed returned the Oblivion gate to where it belonged. It's not much but I gave you kudos, thanks again for saving me from having to restart the game from the beginning all over again.
