My I have an Asus Aspire 5520 (with 1gb ram added) notebook.

3GB ram

Video: GeForece 8600m GS 512mb

Proccesor: AMD Turion 64 x2 1.9ghz

I run Windows 7 OS

I have like twice as much as recomended, but it lags like sh*t... I can't combat, if there's more than 2 npcs in view I can't ever run without lag.

My oblivion settings

texture size: medium

resolution 1280x800

Sliders are all to 25%-50%

could someone help me and tell me how to increase performance?

Thanks guys.

Oh, and I run about 30-40 mods, nothing that increases graphics (some face mods, natural enviroments and OOO).

Shadows disabled.

Well, mods can slow down your game even if they have nothing to do with graphics, for example Apachii's Goddess store turns the game into slideshow inside and even outside of itself, in Waterfront. Check your mods, maybe something there causes a problem. Authors tend to list strange bugs in their readmes.

Here are my Slow Game suggestions

In your case, I suspect the sound system may be at least part of the problem.

You can also try the free Game Booster program - here: http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5952

I have seen mixed reviews on it, let me know what works.

I'm guessing your laptop is a cookin' when you're playing ;) Heat drastically decreases performance. I had a notebook cooler for my old Dell laptop from like 2004 lol. That thing would get burn your legs hot playing Half Life :P

What is your sound on that? Older or crap onboard sound chips are killer on games. I have onboard sound myself but it's not too bad...I've disabled the background music as I've heard it enough. Plus it gave me a slight increase in FPS :)
