OBMM will not run

Ok, just reinstalled Oblivion for fun and got some mods and OBMM. I installed OBMM and it will not run. Why I try to run it nothing happens. When I bring up the task manager I can see OBMM under process using all the cpu but it won't start. Nothing happens at all and I haven't found a single person with the same problem. This is very frustrating.

Ok, just deleted all my mods and uninstalled/reinstalled oblivion & shivering isles. Patched the game ran it; everything seems fine. Installed OBMM same story. Whenever I try to run the program nothing happens. OBMM shows up in the task manager under processes eating up all the cpu but nothing happens.

Most problems related to OBMM not running is due to the required runtime (Microsoft .NET Framework) being out of whack or recently uninstalled.

Try re-installing .NET Framework and see if that doesn't fix OBMM.

OBMM must be in the Oblivion folder (not the data folder like a mod, but the one with the actual Oblivion.exe in there, if I'm remembering this right - will check when I get home and ammend as necessary)

Now... first silly Q... whats your operating system? XP / Win 7/ Vista?

If Vista you need to give the program admin rights, and I believe its the same for Win 7, but the fact its carrying on trying to run and drinking your CPU resources, and not just telling you that and killing itself, screams that something more sinister is at work there as well if thats the problem.

A couple peeps I know (including my brother in spite of me telling him if he killed his new comp doing it he could fix it himself - he's still peeved at me for the £65 the guy who came out to fix it for him charged him) tried to download a third party program for Vista that gave programs that need admin rights those rights automatically. Don't do that. Ever. That is a security feature and those third party programs allow every trojan under the sun to get around it and the rest of windows, albeit it rather naff, in built security systems. And it won't uninstall cleanly, leaving you needing a reformat or a fresh install of Vista. Which isn't fun.

As for if that has anything to do with this I don't know... as I said, I didn't fix it for him. I do know it shot his OBMM Launcher dead though, similar to what you are describing. (didn't launch but didn't tell him why)

Your Hero Has Arrived. ( I Hope)

I ran into the same problem as you bro.

I would run OBMM as admin and watch it sit there in Task Manager.

Apart from that, nothing happened.

I was trying to solve the problem when i got pulled away from my computer screen for a few minutes.

I came back and I had a message on my desktop. It was an error for OBMM.

The error read that a file was too large and failed to load.

After I hit OK on that windows it sent OBMM up.

It works 100% fine now.

------------------------------- IN CONCLUSION -------------------------------------------

1. Run it as Admin.

2. Make sure it is sitting in task manager.

3. Let it sit in task manager for a few minutes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this help bro.

God Bless.

5 Stars for first post XD
