Bazerk83
Ah, nevermind. I think I may have discovered why I'm having this problem.... it's the notorious i'madumbass.dll error. :P I've just noticed the filesize is tiny. When it should be 50mb. So clearly, for some reason it didn't fully download. Doh! I'm also starting to think I may well be the cause of my own troubles with this game. Patching a uk version of the game with a us patch. :\
Bazerk83
I have made in EU version too...Works with both US and UK patches ah well I'm being thorough. Thanks for the pointer though.
overload1977
lol yea don`t use the US patch if you have a EU game, god knows what bugs that will give you, if i was you i would do a fresh install not in the same place and download the UK 1.7 patch and see how that goes :)

Bazerk83
---UPDATE--- So, initial testing of the previously mentioned fresh install has been a 100% success. First noticable point, the nvidia driver (186.18). Fantastic. On Ultra settings I experienced MINIMAL screen tearing if i spun in circles at an increased mouse sensitivity, running HD mode (via a physical HD port directly connected to a HD tv at 1360x768/60hz resolution & 16:9 widescreen ratio. Reducing this to High settings resulted in absolutely NO screen tearing or micro-stuttering and also no stuttering with regard to the classic "jittery-sky" (looking up at the sky and spinning). No frame skipping, no frame rate issues, nothing. The game ran noticably faster, was more responsive and without glitch. I completed 7 or 8 missions then ran around Megaton executing everyone, explored the wasteland, jumping, spinning, attacking everything in sight went in and out of rooms repeatedly in 1st and 3rd person constantly accessing the pip-boy, overwriting saves, adding new saves, spoke to everyone about everything in Megaton, wiped out the supa-dupa raiders and bands of other raiders further out. All in the aid of seeing how long I could purely "free-roam" at a fast speed and actually trying to cause a crash, racking up around 2 hours of gameplay. A personal record for PC version. Nothing. Worked pefectly. So now I'm in two minds as to whether I should bother installing the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch. Can anyone tell me the serious benefits I'd be missing out on? Also, if I were to install it. Would it be advisable to installed it a SECOND time after I begin installing mods? ---Update 2--- I decided to go ahead and install The UF3P and hey presto, the game crashed within half an hour with no mods installed. So for me personally, this confirms that The UF3P is a pile of $%^&* :) I'm sure many will disagree.
gsmanners
Coincidence, I'm sure. Don't be surprised when your game crashes again sometime within a half an hour even without UF3P.
overload1977
also give it 3 to 4 days and see how much it crashes i`m using 195.55 nvidia drivers :P also take it slow dont go installing lots of mods right away :)
Bazerk83
Yeah you're probably right, it probably is coincidence but I'm just going on the results I've witnessed so far. If it DOES crash again without UF3P, which I've now uninstalled then I'll take back what I said about it. For now, I've just installed FOOK 2 and the additional fixes that comes with it. Will test this tomorrow and post my results. :) How are those drivers working out for you overload?
