lonewolf181
Hi all was interested to know if anyone was able to redesign longswords. I like the Starfang design but hate the longsword they used, I am looking for someone who is able to take the Starfang Glowing Design and put it on a Dalish Curved Longsword. I made one in game with the great Winter Forge Mod. Would like to know if these stats on this Curved Longsword are overpowered. I think the +4 to attributes is a bit much for a sword, that is maybe better for armor I guess. 1. Is anyone able to design a Dalish Curved Longsword with the starfang Design2. The Dalish longsword I made in game if the Stats are ok or overpowered If they are ok would love the Design on a Dalish Curved Longsword with similiar look and Stats to the 1 I made in game. bdb
Hello, First, sorry my bad english. Second, I have a request to redesign starfang too. But for the 2H version. Anybody should redesign his to the Yusaris model? If you look for his icon in inventory, you will see the Yusaris design, and IMO, Yusaris is the best 2H Sword design in the game. Thanks. DeMocha
Just use toolset and open the .uti file of the weapon you made or want to alter Then change material to '10000', which will change weapon to starmetal. Give that a try
lonewolf181
Never done any modding before wouldn't even know where to begin and what to look for, but I guess nothing ventured nothing gained. I guess a good place to start would be to download the Toolkit. Thanks for the help will give it a go!

Ah k, another way if you don't feel like going and making a mod of your own, is to1/ use the toolset and open the savegame 2/ savegame_playerchar3/ savegame_playerchar_char4/ savegamegame_equipment_items5/ then find out which of the items (0-11 in my case) is the item to alter6/ then change savegame_item_materialtype to 10000 If you do decide to go with making your weapons via your own mod then i'd recommend looking at this tutorialhttp://social.bioware.com/5339/blog/576/
lonewolf181
If I use the toolset and change it via the savegame I wont be able to use it with other characters, I make? If not that really isnt what I want to do as I want to use it with other characters I make in game. I will try the mod way you explained and give it a go, I am in no rush really. So will read the tutorials and any other info I can before attempting it. Anyway if I do stuff up my game worse case. I will just uninstall and reinstall it again np's. Thanks for taking the time and explaining it really is apprectated. The Savegame way is really as a last resort If I cant do it. You have a least given me 2 choices to work with as before I had none. Thanks If I do pull it off will post the mod.
DeMocha
Yeah i like the mod way as well, time consuming but worth it, ( currently overpowered with dual wielding starmetal 2h swords, lol). The savegame alteration will only work with that character from that save on, so its a quick'n'easy way of doing it. Good luck with the mod, I'll keep an eye out for it.
