If your "armour stuff" is just a retexture of existing armour then you might not have any such file.
DavidBudreck
My guess is that you have not uncompressed the files. 7z or Rar are compressed files. Once they are uncompressed, follow the installation instructions in the mod. Or, get Oblivion Mod Manager to help you out.
magesrock225
ok, how do i uncompress them ?
DavidBudreck
WinRAR is a free download; look it up on Google. 7z is also a free download, provided you don't have 64 bit Vista, which I had when I first attempted to try it and failed miserably. WinRAR can open 7z files, although 7z gives much better compression (I just haven't gotten around to trying again since going back to XP).

bben46
I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you. 7-zip is absolutely FREE. with no nag screens or begging for donations. It works as well or better than any of the for pay programs I have tried. Winrar is try before you buy. it has a nag screen to constantly remind you that you are supposed to pay after using it for a while. But it still works. As to uncompressing them yourself. You will have to spend a year or so writing an uncompressing program. And that is after you learn to do heavy duty programming. Its much simpler to just bite the bullet and use 7-zip or Winrar.
