RideTheCatfish Posted November 29, 2009 Share Posted November 29, 2009 After experimenting with mods for a month or two, finding the ones I want and generally making an inexperienced mess of my directory files, I decided to clean house and completely reinstall Fallout 3: GOTYE and the mods I chose to keep. Everything went smoothly, but now I can't even run the game, with or without mods. I'll start it up, I'll hear the first "DUMM" sound of the main menu's music and then the screen goes black, reverts into a smaller rectangle in the to left corner of the screen and then blips out to the desktop, and I get the generic "We have encountered an error/need to close/sorry" message. Once again, this is happening when I run the game with FOMM and FOSE, and when I run the game manually with the standard .exe or the launcher. I need help, because this is just driving me nuts. The problem still stands as it is when I run it with mods. The Fallout3.esm that was already in FOMM when I first ran it... is that the right one, or did I need to recreate it or something? The mods I have are loaded in concordance with the Fallout Load Order Tool. Is there an easier way to copy that list down than to manually type out all the mods I have? Craigsters Posted November 29, 2009 Share Posted November 29, 2009 In my case in order for me to control fallout manager properly I needed a shortcut to the the fallout launcher on my desktop to control the load order of my mods properly in fallout manager!.. RideTheCatfish Posted November 29, 2009 Author Share Posted November 29, 2009 Well, I think I've found the problem - FOOK is either too big for my feeble computer, or there's some FOOK incompatability issue going on. I have FOIP and all that, but I guess it'll be trial and error, or mayhap I'll just need to wait until I get a better comp. In any case, Fallout 3 is now working fine with all mods I have aside from FOOK. If anyone can look at that list up there and let me in on any compatability issues I may be having, I'll be most greatful. But for now, I thank you all for your help.
