Make sure that your .nif is in the same folder as the molerat skeleton, then open up snuffles creature tab, located under actors/creature, not sure what his ID is though, if nothing else you can sort by name and go down to snuffles. Open it up, and go over to model list, then just unclick the molerat nif, and tick your nif, done deal.

I'm having the same problem as Dracomies. (Sorry for mooching of your thread Dracomies) I edited the texture of a freal ghoul for a mod i'm already really far into. I don't want to have to restart, but I will if i have to so here are my questions/problems. This is my first mod so please answer like if I am a complete idiot.

  • There are two texture files associated with the ghoul mesh, one with n at the end. Which do I change?
  • I made a new mesh as a test and put it in the data folder as, "Meshes/245Trioxin/Creatures/Ghoul/dlc04ghoulreaver.nif"
When I edited the creature, The dlc04ghoulreaver was the same model
  • I set the mesh as the skeleton to see if the texture worked and it did change the mesh to the regular ghoul, but the texture wasn't the edited one.
  • Do I need to make the retexture a seperate .esp?

I am completely stuck, I've checked the rest of these forums, youtube, nifskope tutorials, GECK tutorials, and even the steam community which have all been no help. The only guides I can find are for weapons and armor which are so easy, tutorials aren't warranted. The complicated stuff apparently doesn't need tutorials.
