Direct X 11

Recommended Posts

You need a graphics card which support DirectX 11. Currently only the ATI 5xxx cards do. I think some Nvidia graphics cards would arrive in the beginning of 2010, which will also support DirectX 11.

Yes thats true they don't have dx11 cards right now only ati, but older cards can still benefit from dx 11, most games these days dont even take advantage of dx 11 though, so its not all that worth it right now, maybe in a few years they might start making dx11 games but they haven't even fully started with dx 10, very few games take advantage of dx 10.

If you want future proof go with dx 11, if you wan't price range and performance go with dx 10.

But for me i am going to wait for the nvidia 300gt to come out  clock speeds are going to be around 1ghz as there is some leaked info on the possible specs.

As said earlier, only ATI models of 5000 series fully support dx11. That card supports all dx 10.1 features. It will still work with dx11 but will not take full advantage of all dx11 features...but there are less than a handful of games that even support dx11 right now. From what I have seen, it is primarily FPS improvements.
