VixenRouge
Things are getting a bit clearer. I've done some home made stats based on the NPC factions in the TESCS and on obvious logic to put down which social classes can be attended by which races and which races are available in which villages.I also did 3 villages schemes. I'll call the villages Duskwater, Skyside Home and Riddle Pond, these names may eventually change if there are better suggestions. Available locations:• [Duskwater] on the Panther River, County Leyawiin, between the Black Dog camp, the Kindred cave and Wendelbek's Ayleid Ruins• [skyside Home] somewhere in the Jerall Mountain, County Bruma, hard to be more precise for now• [Riddle Pond] somewhere southwest of Chorrol, between the pillaged mine and Wendir's Ayleid ruins • DuskwaterPopulation:Argonian, Khajiit, Imperial, Bosmer, Dunmer. Buildings:Monastery nearby - Imperial Bosmer Argonian Great house x 2 - ImperialHouse x 2 - Imperial Dunmer Bosmer AgonianModest house x 4 - Imperial Khajiit Bosmer DunmerShack x 5 - Argonian Imperial Dunmer KhajiitStreet - Imperial Argonian Camp marauders - Khajiit Argonian BosmerCave vampires - Dunmer Imperial • Skyside Home Population:Nord, Breton, Imperial, Orc, Altmer, Reguard. Buildings:Small castle nearby - Imperial (lord) Imperial Nord Redguard Orc Manor - Imperial BretonGreat house x 2 - Imperial Breton Nord AltmerHouse x 3 - Imperial Breton Nord Altmer Orc RedguardModest house x 3 - Imperial RedguardFarmhouse x 2 - Imperial OrcPriory - Imperial Altmer Breton Orc Redguard NordShack x 3 - Redguard Imperial Nord Orc, a crazy AltmerStreet - Nord Imperial Redguard Camp thieves - Redguard Imperial OrcFort bandits - Imperial Nord Redguard Orc • Riddle PondPopulation:Breton, Imperial, Redguard, Bosmer, Altmer, Khajiit. Buildings:Small castle nearby - Imperial (lord) - Imperial Khajiit Redguard Great house x 3 - Imperial Breton AltmerHouse x 3 - Imperial Breton Altmer Bosmer RedguardModest house x 3 - Imperial Khajiit Redguard BosmerFarmhouse x 2 - Imperial Bosmer Camp thieves - Khajiit BosmerCave vampires - Altmer ImperialRuins/Cave mages - Breton Altmer I think I can start level building to get a base for each village but I'd like to define the different families living in each building. If you see anything that feels wrong, like you don't think such race could live in such building, don't hesitate to say it. I tried to base this on the actual social classes in the game but a mistake is always possible. However I also tried to let some roles open because time to time there are exceptions... Also I'd like the NPC of the villages to have a life and a job, be it farmer, blacksmith, writer or whatever. But as it takes time to think about this, if you have any ideas it would help a lot =] Don't hesitate to throw anything passing by your mind! Have a merry Xmas and happy new year =]

Unavi
This is realy interesting. I realy hope you guys can manage to acomplish this. I wish i could help you, but i'm afraid my modeling skils aren't good enought to make children bodies (that sounds weird too me for some reason :P) However i'd gladly help with some minor modeling help. EDIT: Umm i just tought of somethig i could help with: - As a child you could be aprentice of a knight or warrior that would train you. Of course as you are too young to be using real weapons you would be using some wooden swords or sticks ~ ~ i could help by making these :)
Stoldark0
1.Congrats! awesome idea2.What if you had a youger, older or even twin brother, that you play with and get into troubles and stuff.3.What about custom races?
L33Nexus
XD i remember about my last comment getting my young cousin to say some words XD that would be funny although for his sake i'd ask you to name the NPC he's voiceing for Josh just so he'll get excited when he see's me playing oblivion and talking to him in game. XD If i found out a couple of lines the next time he comes up i'll record him saying them he'll be more than willing to XD if not i'll have to bribe him :D It's sounding really awesome i think this could turn out very fun
andy12750
I like those names, but mabye they could be something more.... Elder Scroll-ish? Duskwater would fit in, but Riddle Pond could perhaps be called Wolfs Bane, as its in the Great Forest/Colovian Highlands, which is kinda wolf country. Skyside Home could become Mountain Watch, just because it sounds alot more Cyrodiilic. Duskwater could also become Ione, as thats a town from the Infernal City novel, and would be lore freindly. Or it could be something like Panther Crossin, since its on the Panther River. ^ Very, very minor Infernal City Spoiler.
L33Nexus
If you where to change it then i think panther crossin sounds great :D

Of course as you are too young to be using real weapons you would be using some wooden swords or sticks@Unavi:I thought about the training possibility from teenagehood to get trained by some sort of master. I don't know yet what those masters would look like exactly, I only think some could be guards, bandits, mages/sages, thieves, assassins, hunters... Something alike. If you have more detailed ideas maybe it could be helpful =)About the wooden weapons and toys it's on the list, childish "war" games could be a good inspiration pool for some quests. @Stoldark0:2. I thought it could be possible to have one or several siblings but as thinking about the possibility to stick a script to an NPC according to another script (to define which NPC is supposed to be your brother/sister) I didn't think much about it for now. Still it could be great. Maybe things like having to save your brother who tried to fight the Daedra related to the main quest, or facing the situation of him joining the Imperial Legion while you play thief or assassin... If you have some quest ideas don't hesitate to propose them =)3. About Custom races I think the best is that I contact the authors to know if they wish to take part in the project. If they do I think the easier would however to create specific villages for one or several custom races. @andy12750:I tried to figure the names basing me on the UESP's villages, farms, and settlements. I wasn't sure about the name "Riddle Pond", to be honest it came to my mind and I couldn't find anything else. The idea to base the name on the wolves is great. I just think the name Wolfsbane is a bit negative for such a pretty place if I can say so. screenshots can be seen here I realized it requires Unique Landscapes to be seen.About the last one I don't know yet, you can guess I based the name "Skyside Home" on Brindle Home and Water's Edge but it's true "Watch" is used a lot. I tend to think "Mountain Watch" is a little simple, I know many names are quite simple but this is very generic, Mountain Watch could be anywhere there's a mountain. For this village I had listed the ideas of earth VS sky, mist, cold and howling wind, for a place that's rather desolated as such cold grounds ain't the more fertile. ------------------- I began the level building of Duskwater, the main buildings have been added, I still have to clean the scene, edit the terrain textures and add some more details, then I'll begin the interiors building. These are links to screenshots compilations:• top view• TESCS views• ingame screenshots I'm also going to look on the TESCS info website for some info about how to add custom meshes and textures, it will be needed at some point and when I tried to figure which deity the monks of the priory could worship, I thought about Ius the Agitated, God of the Animals, even if it sounds more like a joke I thought it would be fun and fitting in a village inhabitated mostly by Khajiiti, Bosmers and some Bretons. Else I'm still trying to figure out jobs, here's a little list of what came out without any order:-hunter-jewler-writer-alchemist-blacksmith-farmer-horse breeder-tailor-merchant-tavern/inn tender-drug dealer-monk/priest-fisher-guard-singer/musician-painter-assassin-thief-knight-teacher?-artisan (pots, furniture, tapistery...)-alcohol producer (alcohol can be made out of anything, apple, pear, rice, potato, plants...)-cook-"you're a genius, master"-telling guy-daily drunk-future predicter (let's make crystal balls useful in the end)-fire spiter! If you think of anything else, even a bit silly, don't hesitate to propose, there are about 30 NPC to create for each village!
