camaro_69_327 Posted May 6, 2014 Share Posted May 6, 2014 is this a new computer? Do you have Direct X 9 installed? Just because you have DirectX 11 or some such (came with your GPU) the Game needs the OLD Directx version. IN the Game folder you will find the old version. In a folder.........\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\DirectX10 Run the "DXSETUP.exe" It also installs sound stuff...Xaudio, worth a shot.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To anyone who has the same issue go to the folder C:\Users\(your name)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim and delete EVERYTHING. I literally just pooped my pants when he started talking to me.
