bgremel
I modified some armor and exported it from blender. It looks fine in nifscope, but when I put it on, the upper torso disappears and all I see is the armor. What did I do wrong? I see the upper torso in nifscope. bgremel
Are texture paths and everything set up right? Do you have a (name of texture/armor)_n.dds file for it? I think so but... Nifscope reports I have a pointer to textures\characters\imperial\female\footfemale.dds and this isn't an imperial character. But it's supposed to be this way, no? The textures for the armor seem fine, except that the "dds" file name contains upper case characters and nifscope reports the "dds" file names in lower case characters. Would that be a problem? bgremel
Yeah that matters I believe..Doesn't seem to. When I use nifscope to edit the dds file name, it always displays it as lower case, even when I pick a file that has uppercase characters. But yes, it does seem there must be a problem with the textures somehow. I just don't see one.
LHammonds
If you see the textures while in NifSkope but not in the game, I'd look to make sure you have normal maps for each and every DDS texture the NIF file is pointing too. Example: NIF file points to: textures\armor\mymod\arm.dds You also need: textures\armor\mymod\arm_n.dds LHammonds
razorpony
I've recently started getting active with Blender and the thing that caused me the most headache was exporting... and it was all because of the skeletons. It's important to parent everything to the skeleton and save it before you export. The method I use is to right click the bones in object mode, delete them, highlight all objects by pressing 'A' until they glow pink, then import skeleton.nif (you may have to unpack it from the BSA, and on the import page make sure you have 'Import skeleton only and parent selected' clicked. This will bind all your parts to the skeleton allowing it to show up properly in game. Once I started doing this 99% of my export headaches vanished. Here's the tutorial that helped me a lot: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index..._Blender_Part_1 Be sure to check out part 2 also. -Razorpony
LHammonds
Regarding armor, I've covered the steps to import armor, delete the skeleton and import / attach a new skeleton to make it ready for export.
