During the course of the next few hours you get to see much of the house and tower. The occupants clearly have money but other than liking a high level of tidiness and formality there is nothing strange about the place. The evening meal is a starchy, silent affair in which little is said except by Auriel who chatters away about nothing in particular largely, as far as you can tell, to himself.

After the meal as you retire to your rooms Auriel asks if he can stay with you for the night. Since each room sleeps three and the lonely child sounds eager, you agree.

The three man take one room, the three women the other.

Not long after you have retired, from deep in the bowels of the tunnels comes a blood-curdling howl, inhuman and terrifying. Your sentries will hear it and it pierces through the bonds of sleep of those of you who had managed to fall asleep. Only Auriel sleeps on.

The howl sends shivers down Druce's spine. Chayton looked around warily. "By the gods," he says to no one in particular. "What was that?!" He walks back into his room to wake up the other two men. He then knocks on the women's door. Mac comes out first. "What do you think that was?" Druce asks him.

Esha bounded out of bed at the horrid sound. She ran for the door..silks flying..daggers out and opened it to be knocked on the head by Druce as he was knocking their door...

"Gods and Goddesses...." She said as she smacked at Druce's hand to keep it from hitting her in the face again.

The terrible sound came again and Esha covered her ears and fell back against the wall...

The howling chills the marrow of your bones. It sounds next very far away, then close, then far away. Is it one thing or more than one? Is it best to pretend it's not there or to find out before something or other finds you?

"Maybe we should wake our hosts," Druce suggests, trying not to look scared. Chaytin is looking around wildly, his eyes wide. "Or maybe we should wake him." Druce continues, pointing at Auriel, who is still sound asleep.

Ritz quickly rises from her bead and readies her bow and arrows, after getting prepared she says;"Someone mind taking up a lantern? I don't know what there is outside, but I am going to find it out one way or the other and the sooner we find out what's causing this noise, the sooner I can kill it." Ritz felt shivers going back her spine when she heard the howl, anything that makes her shiver is rarely good.

Mac feels the very fibres of his courage is threatened with this mind chilling howls, he tries to gather himself and takes a look around...

"Alright people, someone grab the boy, lets stick together and light a torch or two... I wonder where our hosts are? I hate to tell this but kid might be our ticket out of here if our hosts are behind this..."

OOC>Sorry I was away for two or three days...

Esha ran back into her room and grabbed her pack and shoes and cape. There was a chill in the air that she was not sure was from the cold. The sound of whatever creature this was seemed to reach into her head and pull at her brain and psyche. She readied her daggers and prepared to go...

Druce readied his cloak and his staff, and walked over to the window. He whispered to Chayton, "If anything should happen to us - to me - I want you to take this back home and bring it to my family." He ties a small leather bag around Chayton's leg, and then gently strokes the bird. "Go," he whispers. Chayton chirps softly, and rubs his head against Druce's cheek, turns around and takes off into the night air.

Druce turns around towards the rest of the group. "Well? Are we going to stand here or do something?" he asks, without trying to sound too nervous.

(OOC-> Sorry I've been gone for so long. It's back to school for me. I will try to be on when I can).
