The Master Of Zooz

"That reminds me about the plants; Are there plants that I could grind for a poison that would cause blindness or muscle weakness, even if only a temporary effect?";Ritz asks and then says;"I rarely deal with lethal poisons as my arrows and dagger are for that job. Also if you know of any place to get strong wood for crafting new arrowshafts, I'd like to know, yew tends to break too easily."

(OOC>A little break from GoW2, prolly gonna continue tomorrow.)

Auran shakes his head about the wood. "I know little of weapons, But there are plants where the leaves can be used to bring about deep sleep or even death. If I have time I will show them to you."

He turns once again to Esha.

"So what must we do?"

Druce interjects his question quickly.

"Auran," he says. "What do you know of invisibility? Once we leave this castle, we are going to need to get out of here safely. Perhaps you have studied that form of magic?..." he asks.

Auran considers for a moment.

"If you mix smutt beans with porphry leaves and quinone root you get a potion that can render you invisible for a few minutes at a time. It is possible to make it stronger by adding ground amethyst but the stronger potions can cause weakness for some hours afterwards. The plants are in the garden and ground amethyst is available in my lab."

Esha looks at Auran, "I must speak with my companions, however I will also need acces to your garden. There are things needed for the spell."

"you must assure us an uninterrupted night should we stay put as you tell us....I must get all the rest I can...as should you. I suggest after you show my your garden that you spend some time with your family"

Auran seems concerned that Esha is unwilling to tell him all he must do but as she is stern faced he does not push the matter. He takes everyone through to the garden and identifies all the plants he had mentioned leaving each of you to pluck those needed.

He then leaves you alone and takes Auriel with him.

(OOC>I'm alive and kicking, I just wrote a semi-long post two nights ago with a blackout wiping it all off, haven't bothered re-typing all of it, so I'll stick something relatively short that fits with what's happening currently. Not sure what's the situation with others.)

Ritz headed to the garden to pick up the plants designated by Auran, once she had picked enough of them, she took two reinforced empty bottles, bottle of water and a mortar & pessle from her backpack to start grinding the poisons. She would still need to find something suitable for arrowshafts, that wouldn't beak off immediately after hitting something. Her options on that matter were trying to find some teak, crafting hollowed silver arrowshafts and reinforcing that with wood inside, although the weight of the silver would lower the range of her arrows by a few meters. Her bow was fine though as it was crafted by one of the best fletchers of her time, unfortunately the man had already passed away about two decades earlier.

After grinding up the ingredients and making the poisons, she took several more pieces of the plants, so she could change the potency of the poison, if it turned out too weak, as there was no target to test it on in here. She thinks to herself;*The poison should be rather potent due to not using much water in the mixing process, but better be sure.* She then returns to Esha.

"So, you had something you needed to talk with us about?";Ritz says calmly.

Esha has gathered many herbs and various flowers needed for her magik. At Ritz's words she looks to her with troubled eyes.

She then sighs and gestures that they both sit on the warm ground.

"The magik required is difficult...but I believe I can do it and survive. However I will not be able to immediately leave this place without some help. Also...I am willing to care for the boy...and I hope that one of you will agree also to this if I should not make it. I can not leave him alone in this. The fact is that Auran will have to join his wife in the other world for this to work. THey must both die. Auran must be willing...to embrace his wife in her lich form...with open eyes and an open heart..this is not as easy as it sounds. If he can not do this....it will be my death that will bind her sould here so that she can not escape...for there is only to be success or death for all three of us. You must be prepared to get out immeditately if all goes wrong."

Esha looks out onto the garden..."If we succeed I think that the villagers will see us as normal and the stink of evil will leave this place. I can not say for sure so we muct be prepared for all things. But if I do not succeed....I can trap the liches soul into this castle....but I can not stop it from destroying anything that is in here....and its shadow will always be in this place. You and Druce need to talk and plan. I can be of no help for you in this as all my time remaining must go toward the spell."

"I already said this to Auran, but if all should go wrong, I am willing to take care of the kid. As for planning, that's what I always try to do."; Ritz says to Esha and then wanders deep into her own thoughts. *There are a few possible and feasible solutions on how to get away from here, one of which is the invisibility potion that Druce is making. If everything does go wrong, what preparations should be done, basic traps would not do any harm to the lichdame, but could slow it down, time however limits even those options.* She starts analyzing what options could be done and thinks of a few simple ones, that would require a few things and the other one might not be possibleat all.

Ritz snaps out of her thoughts and asks out of the blue;"Do we have any kind of oil in here, or a liquid prone to fire? We could device a simple 'trap' of sorts, that if everything should go wrong, would give us the time to get safely away before the lichdame would be able to reach us. Basic idea would be to raise a blazing inferno out of anything that could burn, which would make a large wall of fire between us and the lichdame. Even if it didn't kill the lichdame, it would hurt it, which would make it most likely try and move around it. This plan would require fast reactions on the very moment things go wrong though and surrounding the area where the spell is cast isn't feasible due to the lack of things we might be able to burn and if we try to surround it, the wall of flame wouldn't be long enough to prevent the lichdame from just walking through it." She takes a small pause and then continues;"What we're aiming to gain is time, not to kill the lichdame if things go wrong, as that is currently out of our power. What could further enhance it is putting up a small scale palisade wall right behind the things we burn, so if the lichdame should still want to try and go through it, we'd gain a few seconds anyway. There are still a few variables we need to discuss and analyze though, one of them including if there are enough things here to even do this 'trap' or will we need another plan."

Ritz thinks for a bit and then says;"Also if the spell isn't limited to any specific location, we could do the everything as close to border of where the lichdame is able to move, the castle gate relatively speaking, thus giving us the upperhand should we need to flee, but for your and everyones sake I hope things will go as planned without us having to use the precautions. Anyway, I still need to speak with Druce to see if he's come up with any possible solutions."

Ritz then walks to Druce and says;"I just spoke with Esha and she said we'd need to come up with a plan in case things go wrong. I've got a few ideas myself, but I'd like to know if you've got some good plans that could be used." She then tells him everything that she had heard from Esha.
