In the sword room, t'skar and Kalmer suddenly become aware of a new visitor staring intently at the sword and glancing uncertainly at them. He is clearly a fighter but has no visible weapon on him.

After successfully making the potions, Aldhelm decides to pack them away for safe keeping.

"Why do you say that Kokolon was disappointing? Was there something different about it? And as for the empty plinth in the Sea Temple does anyone know what its purpose might have been?"

The custodian nods at Aldhelm. "My knowledge is mainly of our temple here but the reason Kolokon disappointed me was purely architectural. It was undistinguished. If you have seen the others you will know what I mean - Golconar's gardens, Veejani's snakes and terrapins, Lopor's carvings, Antinapura's weird shape, Dohoti's jade statue, Papred's mystery. Kolokon was little more than a plain square box on three floors. Ours of course is shaped like a skull, although you can only tell that from the inside. As for the fourth plinth at Papred no one knows. The conjecture is that it ought to have something to do with the fourth statue. Why is that statue unique to Lopor when there are five each of the others?"

He thinks for a moment. "There is an old man in the city here who knows a great deal about history. His name is Nikishastra. I would search him out and ask him about it."

The custodian sighs.

"The upper level is freely accessible. But to get to the lower levels you'll need permission from Arminda Sagrami. The middle level looks exactly the same as this copy. The ossuary is now completely empty so she won't be all that interested in granting permission. But you can try. If you offer to help with the rumoured 'whispering' some say they have heard in the lower levels she might agree."

He sounds doubtful of this however.

Looks at Kalmer and frowns, he seemed to be thinking very hard about something. "Fine c..craftwork..." He takes a step towards him then stops. "You help?" Shakes his head and grimaces in frustration. "Call for help...you need muscle?" He looked a little nervous as the words came out, you could only guess he did not want to talk to the wrong people.

"You seem a little ... confused friend, why don't we continue this conversation outside, where you can get some fresh air? I think we are done here, aren't we Kalmer?" T'skar suggests helpfully.

He stiffens a little, and takes on a stern, intimidating look. But he nods at T'skar anyway, keeping a close eye on the group. "Not stupid...i hermit, many years since i am in city. Many people.." He wasn't trying to hide his distrust of the group, but he had no problem leaving the museum.

"Yes, T'Skar, I beleive we are finished here." Says Kalmer calmly. "Come, friend, let us step outside. And no-one said anything about 'stupid.' " As they step outside the museum doors, the air around them is noticeably clearer and easier to breathe. They find a place to sit down.

"Now tell us, friend: what is all this about a call for help?" He asks reassuringly.
