karkarinus
"The beach it is, then!" Exclaims Kalmer jocularly as he finishes tightening T'Skar's corset. "Knot bad at all!" He muses as she does a fancy little twirl in her fancy little.... garments. "I shall act as Prime Courtier, Áni as Bodyguard, Aldhelm as Health and Beauty Advisor and the others as Assorted Minions. We should set up our beach equipment in a position so as to be unobtrusive, but close enough for La Sagrami to hear us when we sing Happy Birthday. This way, T'Skar can momentarily be seen by Sagrami as the beachball conveniently approaches her during a game of "Catch." However, we should avoid her having to ask 'Excuse me, miss, can I have my ball back please?' "I also propose that every now and then, Aldhelm approaches T'Skar and pampers her with some kind of 'ointment', and that we come up with a suitably aristocratic-sounding name for her. Say, perhaps, Kristalia or something of the sort. If any of you have any further ideas or comments, please make them known, and I even feel that some rehearsal may help us make this more convincing." He throws the silver wrap over T'Skar's shoulders in an effort to preserve her dignity... and his.
Malchik
OOC> I don't imagine t'skar would want the corset under the swimwear, Kalmer. You are trying to be cheeky! :D If the others are happy with their alloted roles I will have Face take you to the beach. Is there any particular route you wish to take? karkarinus
"The beach it is, then!" Exclaims Kalmer jocularly as he finishes tightening T'Skar's corset. OOC> I don't imagine t'skar would want the corset under the swimwear, Kalmer. (ooc> Er... actually, Kalmer was tightening T'Skar's corset on himself. Less said the better, methinks! :P) Kalmer asks Face the best way to get to the beach while attracting a reasonable amount of attention from uppercrust types, but not too much. He pays him his daily Nipin (ooc> plural) and says that it would probably be better to not be seen with a guide, at least for the duration of the seaside foray. Then, if all are ready and happy with their roles, they set off for the beach....
Malchik
Face shrugs "Few visitors would be seen without guides. The wealthy have several. They do not come onto the beach but wait on the boardwalk along with other lackeys. They are within calling distance of course. The best route will be to reverse the way we came from the docks. I would however detour around the emporium where you acquired the clothes. When you get to the beach stick to the road until the mushrooms appear. That is where you will find Arminda and those like her. Walking on any other part of the beach would lower your status in their eyes. The boardwalk runs beside the road on the beach side and like the road is shaded by jacaranda trees. It is not easy walking though, especially at the start as it is not kept in very good repair. It will be fine where you are headed. Your companions will need to wait on the boardwalk until you call them over. That would show you are of the elite." karkarinus
"Well in that case, Face, you had better come along after all." Says Kalmer in a friendly - and somewhat relieved - manner. "I had assumed that it would be better not to be seen with guides, but to be honest I'd prefer you to be around." Kalmer looks around for Tiax and Mandrake, in case they are still there. "Mandrake: if you wish to come along you can make portrait sketches of our fair Lady, and Tiax: you can be another Health and Beauty consultant along with Aldhelm." (ooc> This is because I don't know if they are active ATM, and don't want to leave them out if they are. :))
DragonDudeAW
OOC> Sorry I have been having ISP problems as of late. I think they are all fixed now. I think you guys were just waiting for me to leave to get active again :P "Here Tiax, have some Restore Fatigue, I mean Anti Aging lotion. T'Skar, this will simply reinvigorate you, so do not worry, you can't get too much, there should be no ill effects whatsoever."
phawk69
"I suppose we should pick up a few more guides as well, we want to appear as wealthy as possible. Is there anything else we should be concidering? Face, you said that there are 'mushrooms' at the wealthiest end, what about refreshments? Should I have serving girls? Someone to fan me when I get hot? What else would make me appear very wealthy? Also, do we need a cake or something for this 'birthday'? Or should we plan the 'party' for tonight? And what about the servants? Do they talk to each other while on the boardwalk? I do have a concern about letting the lady think it is Aldheim who produces this 'anti-aging' potion, but maybe we can cross that bridge when we get to it, if we get to it. I suppose if we can get into the temple today, that would be best? If we're all ready, lets head to the beach." T'skar poses.
RedPlague
OOC> Malchik, you had said that Bharat Desani had given the group whatever they wanted at the beginning of this quest correct? If so, he chose to get a new set of somewhat ornate plate mail armor at the local smithy before setting off to meet the group. Áni, who had been busily polishing his armor throughout the conversation suddenly gets up and grabs Aldhelm by the neck. "Secret of anti-aging potion dies with him." he says grimly. A moment later he smirks mischievously at T'skar and chuckles as he lets go of Aldhelm. "You need change pants now?" Áni sits back down and looks over his armor carefully before strapping it on. Malchik
OOC> You can have armour but I'm not sure you'd want it while standing around on the edge of a beach under the Bashkheri sun. I'd be inclined to keep it for the Temple. Face says he doesn't think they need to go too far with the decption. "The very wealthy who live here will have many servants at the beach but visitors fewer depending on how long they are staying. If you are here for only a few days you can say you brought only those essential and there are enough of them. By the way, where do you intend to say you live? You'd better know something about the place. Arminda Sagrami is well connected and is no fool. You'll also need a reason why you haven't been to Ippikander before, a reason for coming now and a reason why she hasn't heard of you. Perhaps together you can prepare your story as we move to the beach." He hands t'skar a parasol. "This will save anyone having to fan you but someone else will need to carry it." He takes them to the beach. OOC> You don't have to plan the story in this thread - the alligator will do but of course if you need help from face it will have to be here. DragonDudeAW
As he hands the cream to Tiax, Aldhelm turns to see their new companion rush forward and grab his throat in an uncomfortably tight strangle hold. He begins reaching for his fire staff to teach the man a lesson but suddenly he finds himself released and the man helping him up. He drops the fire staff he had instinctively picked up, the giant desert scorpions had a habit of attempting that type of thing when he had been sleeping. As a prank, he conjures enough heat to make the plate Ani is polishing uncomfortably hot. After they are prepared to depart, he turns to T'Skar. "Perhaps you should frame yourself to be a wealthy merchant's daughter whose father is planning to expand here. You can say you arrived on a ship recently. If they decide to check it out, they will find this to be true. And any attempt to learn the truth of these claims will be fruitless, seeing that the rest of your family is very distant. " Turning to Face, "Where in town would you say that a merchant's daughter might abide that would be hard to determine as a lie?"
