dragonageaddonz42
I downloaded a bunch of mods for both the override and the daupdater from here and the bioware site. However having made it to lothering with a new mod-filled character, and completing up to the Area Transition (all the side-quests, chantry, sten, inn, bandits, etc.) and saving the dwarves, I can't leave through the area portal (the Bannorn one after sandal, not the way I came one). I tried walking into it, nothing. I tried right-clicking it. Nothing. My memory is foggy but I seem to remember feedback in one of the addons, here or on bioware, that said it can make you unable to leave Lothering but I can't remember which one. I tried rebooting and it didn't work. I tried moving my override. Nothing. I tried disabling all the addins using the game interface, moving the override full of mods, rebooting the computer, and loading a save from before Lothering. Still didn't work. I would create a new character, but I don't want to waste my time only to have this happen there too. Please, benevolent modders, hear my plight! TGBlank
Under modules do you have a single player folder? if you do, delete everything inside.
dragonageaddonz42
wait really? that has sound and stuff in it right? would that really fix it?
TGBlank
Under the dragon age folder in mydocuments, there should be a modules folder, if you have a single player folder inside that one, it should be empty. If it's not, empty it.
dragonageaddonz42
that I understand, what I'm trying to say is, in that folder there are things like cutscene data, sounds, facial animations, and other stuff that I am hesitant to delete- could you give me the reasoning behind deleting that stuff? TGBlank
Why the heck do you have stuff there in the first place!? o,0. If you're afraid, move them somewhere else instead of deleting.
dragonageaddonz42
honestly, I don't mess around with any files besides override so I couldn't tell you but when I see stuff like arl100cs_end.fev I can't help but feel a wee bit scared to delete it. I will try that though (moving it to the desktop instead of deleting completely) when someone has 1639 posts I trust 'em

TGBlank
are we talking about the same folder? I am talking about (under xp):C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\modules\Single Player\ Which is created by the toolset and it SHOULD be empty. Having a whole lot of stuff in:C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override\toolsetexport\ Is also a sign that you're using a mod made by somebody not-too-experienced with the nuisances of the toolset. dragonageaddonz42
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\modules\single player I don't have the tool set first of all and second of all inside the single player folder are the folders "audio" and "data" as well as the file "singleplayer.cif" I have never touched any of these files before this. Dragon age worked perfectly until my mod binging and new game starting. I'm 60% sure that one of the mods I put in my override is the problem because I a vague recollection of feedback that said that you could get stuck in lothering but for the life of me I can't remember which one. looks like I might have to pick up oblivion again or something :(
