Easy Arena Fights

Arena weapons are scripted such that they cannot be picked up -- not even by the combatant that dropped them! If you're wielding an axe or hammer, and have high enough level in your blunt weapons skill, disarm your opponent by performing a power attack while sidestepping, and he'll fight using only his fists for the rest of the match.

Get Guards Off your Back

Befriend a guard. If you commit a crime now and resist arrest, you can yield to him (talk to him while blocking) and all the other guards will obey. After a few frames' worth of reaction time, the guard you yielded to will start running up to you. If he gets within a certain range, he'll greet you and give you your options again. If he doesn't, he'll just keep calmly following you until he catches up. At least it's better than five guards chasing you with their swords drawn.

Not good enough for you, huh? Okay, so you know how guards won't hesitate to break into someone's house and perform a full cavity search on you once you're accused af a crime, right? Turns out there's a story behind that: one night, Patrick Stewart broke into Bethesda's offices while coming down from an opium high. He was in a fit of self-loathing -- induced by memories of people remarking on how even 24th century technology couldn't cure baldness -- when Todd Howard found him. Stewart suggested (making a point that he was inspired by "the world's only other bald icon, Lex Luthor") that the city guards' behaivor be tweaked such that they acted like the Bizarro World Guards in Superman issue #147 ("Escape from Metropolis!"). Desperately wanting to get rid of him, Todd Howard agreed, and hired a dozen Slavic prostitutes te escort Stewart outside. They were paid using the salary of the Orc voice actors.

Anyways, the guards now treat you like a criminal up until you're proven guilty, at which point they'll start guarding you. Using this to your advantage, you can commit a crime, resist arrest, and then have them chase you all the way out to a bandit camp in the wilderness, where they'll brutally assault anything that threatens the player.

Good Weapons, some quick loot, plus a ship you can sleep in!:

In the waterfront district there's the new ship from Morrowind that's docked. Of course the pirates who run the ship won't hesitate to cut you down if you set foot on it. I tried my luck anyways and wound up running for my life. Turns out the local guards didn't much care to see an upstanding Dark Elf citizen such as myself get into such a mess, so they proceeded to kill the three sailors for me. Of course I helped out; I took to the first mate (a dunmer woman) with my steel shortsword, she was well skilled and better than I. But after a much heated exchange of swords wherein I almost died, I blasted her with a fire spell that sent her into the bay. Luck has always been my errant companion. Afterwards, I helped myself to three steel sabers, one (the first mate's) of which is my own now, (each worth 40 gold) and the captains booty chest onboard the ship which held a goodly sum of gold, two flawess pearls and a chunk of gold. And I've only been here less than a month! Easy money.

Incidentaly, I noticed that the captain had in his possesion a strange book that talked about, of all things, a Snow Elf who lived on that frozen hell of an island, the name of which I forget. By the golden codpiece of Talos, I swear I do not regrett getting shipped out from Vvardenfel for accosting Orvas Dren's daughter...

By running up the tower of the Chapel of the Brethren in Hackdirt, you can then jump off the top and land on the roof of Moslin's Store. From there, you can stand safe and be rightful indignant to those ugly, grumpy old peasants and lay down a proper lesson in basic manners, punctuated with fireballs or arrows.
