Switch
Okay, so this is nothing compared to some of the install problems people have been having, but regardless, this is bugging me. For some reason, even with all the distance sliders (except NPC and Item) maxed, and a bunch of other graphical options near full, I get these awful textures in the distance. For example: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/Swi...creenShot90.jpg It looks like they're pushed below minimum, for some odd reason. And to make it worse there's a really obvious line there too. I've been through Video settings and I can't seem to see anything you can tweak to fix this, beyond the distances, and Distant Land, which are all turned up. It's bizarre. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this, and knows a fix? My graphics card should be more than capable of rendering those textures (GeForce 7800 GS 256 MB). Any help would be appreciated, it kind of ruins the atmosphere outdoors to see a view with all those weird textures so close.
Marxist ßastard
uGridsToLoad in the INI. Set it to an odd number.
Dilvish
My game looks similar in to Switch's screenie in places. There is a loss of detail in the distance and I would rather see the high detail all the way to the horizon. I have a pretty high-end system with a 7800GTX video card. There are lots of people experimenting with .ini changes to improve graphics now. The uGridsToload default is =5 in my game. Some say go to 7 or 9. Changes that improve graphics seem to reduce FPS and game stability according to the experimentors. I have a wait and see attitude regarding .ini changes right now. In a short time, there will be more of a consensus on the best changes to improve graphics.
Switch
Forgot to reply to this. ^^ Thanks, setting that ini line to 7 has helped to make the iffy textures far less noticeable. I'm learning to tune it out now anyway.
