phawk69
I'm sure the missing relative wouldn't work, Armiger could check it too easily. Vacationing is a good excuse for being here, and we can go with that, but we need a bit of a back story. The beauty of Kolokon is that it can't be checked, there's no communication out of the palace :) Or at least didn't seem to be. The merchant's daughter won't work if she's to be a couple hundred years old either, too easy to check families, and the Sagrami family is one of the oldest in the land, as Nikishasta told us. It might work best if one of my 'servants' let it slip that I was 200, rather than a birthday bash, I think. Maybe one of the 'court wizards' when they are coming to apply more ointment, something like that, near AS's servents.
DragonDudeAW
That was too close for comfort! That little encounter made me realize Ive got no kind of story behind this cream besides being developed and created by multiple court wizards. We need to think of either reasons to keep Sagrami from getting her hands on the cream at all, or delaying to the last possible second so we might escape before she realizes it is a trick. phawk69
T'skar is a mind mage, and we may be able to make her believe the cream is working through the power of suggestion. Another option may be for the last bottle in our posession to accidentally slip and break, thus rendering in useless, and since we don't have any more, we would have to send her some when we got back to Kolokon. She likely has potion makers (can't think of the right term at the moment) on her staff that could tell her it is just a potion of vitality, so we really don't want her getting her hands on it. My court wizards may get called away inexplicalbly, even before our tea with the Ranee.
karkarinus
We could say that the potion requires fine-tuning for each individual person, and therefore T'Skar's won't work on anyone else.
Malchik
Now we have Tiax back (we hope permanently) it might be useful to take account of his post in the main thread. You are correct that you need ONE story to be convincing but you can have innumerable potions and lotions. What I need to know is what your plans are now. Do you wish to return to your lodging? Are you going to the Ranee' party and if so WHO is going? The invitation was to the Lady Taskara and you do not know how many others (if any) will be allowed in as yet. If you assume only one, decide whether you need a bodyguard (Ani), an advisor (Kalmer) or a potions expert (Aldhelm/Tiax). If the others have the afternoon off, have they plans of their own? (Shopping, resting, visiting the temple ground floor, stealing a sword, investigating the beach entrance to the temple, establishing an escape route, etc. etc.) T'skar should choose who is to accompany her but will not know if it is permitted until she arrives. Whoever it is, if not allowed in, will be left waiting outside. The rest of you should decide how you can best pass the time. BTW there is no right or wrong answer. tiaxanderson
(don't be fooled, I'm at a school computer now)Well if I need to prepare a stronger potion I'll be away till the party else I really don't know.I think it is up to our 'Mistress'
phawk69
To Malchik - I think we are headed back to our lodging. To the rest - what do you think? I would go with Kalmer coming with T'skar, and if he needs to wait outside so be it, as for the rest: it would be alright for Tiax to work on his potion, and having it ready by night would be great. I would be inclined to have the rest of the group guard him, as I'm not so sure about how far our new friends might go to get their hands on an anti-aging potion. The other problem may be that we might not all be allowed to leave our current city - I had thought of that earlier, but didn't post because I didn't want to raise unfounded fears, but it may be that our wizards could find themselves in a spot of trouble with this potion. It might not hurt to have an excape plan - ship times of departure, other routes out of town, stuff like that. The young woman was asking about something to protect from the sun's rays, not necessarily an anti-aging potion, so maybe you could work on that as well? karkarinus
I agree with T'Skar on all counts. We can get travel info from Face, and I definitely think Tiax needs protection. Kalmer and T'Skar can look after themselves in a tight spot, but if things get really hairy, no amount of bodyguards could help them. So if everyone is in agreement we go with what T'Skar has said here. :) I also think that the best story woul dbe that the cream is different for each person, so even if they do get their hands on what we have, its lack of effect is justified. This also gives us time to 'prepare' Sagrami's cream rather than having to hand over a sample there and then.
RedPlague
The personalized cream story idea sounds good to me as well. I would have suggested that the cream is a Kolokon secret and divulging information about it, much less giving it to an outsider would be met with swift and immediate reprisals. But Aldhelm ruined that idea (no offense intended). If Ani were actually T'skars bodyguard he would undoubtedly insist on accompanying her, but since he also supposedly her servant he couldn't do much if she was adamant the he didn't come along. Also he likely wouldn't be ecstatic if he was forced to wait outside the building for her. So, i guess i agree that Ani should be where he is likely most needed. Just be sure to have a decent story in case Sagrami asks why you didn't bring along your bodyguard.
karkarinus
Just be sure to have a decent story in case Sagrami asks why you didn't bring along your bodyguard. We can say that we quite simply didn't expect to need one. Our hostess' hospitality inspired confidence, and only being allowed one companion, the Prime Courtier was the obvious choice. Or something like that ;)
