Getting ahead of myself, on purpose

Okay, my copy of DA:O will arrive Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. This post is by way of making sure that nothing goes wrong, or that if anything does, it won't be because I screwed it up.

I'm on a laptop purchased this past summer, which was designed with gaming in mind. It has Windows Vista (yeah I know, boo hiss), with 206GB free space. And Nvidia Geforce GTX 260M. Oh, and McAfee, but I presume it'll give me the option to "allow" installation/updates as it does everything else.

I know I have to register the game with EA. I already have an account at the dreaded social site. Question is, does it make more sense to go through the game and register it, or to go to the site and register that way, or do I have to do both?

Also, I've heard that the official DLC mods are somewhat buggy in installation. If I don't get Warden's Keep, oh well; but I absolutely must make Stone Prisoner work, because I need Shale for my first runthrough. How do I do this so it doesn't crash/fail to install? I know I'll get a code with the game that I have to enter, but should I let the game download patch updates first? If not, how do I make sure it doesn't do it without my realizing? Should I not download patches at all?

Anything else I should know, that I didn't think to ask?

Thanks in advance.

Well, once you install you have some options ingame to buy content or reg your account I believe.. You can also log in while playing and be able to post screens or achievments but im not sure how that works exactly, im stuck playing the toolset lol So ya, once installed you should be able to do ALL of those questions at once :)
