First, try creating a new game to test whether it happens on the new game as well. If on the new game you don't CTD on looting, the problem is probably with your save game. If that is the case, use this:

really should follow the guidelines of asking for help here

If you're using mods which alter leveled loot lists then that's more than likely your problem.

It sounds like you're getting menu crashes now as well.

Really, when this sort of thing is happening, your best bet is to make a new savegame and try the disable-mods-in-groups method to find the culprit.
