Man marries virtual girlfreind

I tend not to be a romantic person but I've always had the idea that somewhere for every man is a good woman, and vice versa.

Unfortunately, life does not work out so well for some. While they probably didn't start out that way, there are a fair deal of people who, for lack of a better word, are a lost cause as far as romance is concerned. It happens not because people choose that way, but because life is a royal female dog who seems to get extreme satisfaction from torturing people who have already been beaten down.

I would be tempted to guess that this person is someone who would be classified as a Hikikomori in his country, so it is likely not anything as simple as not finding the right girl. Most people who live normal lives cannot understand the desperation and extreme loneliness that can from being shut out by friends, family, and work for years at a time, nor can they understand what sorts of toll this takes on the personality and mannerisms of that person. In most social situations, they don't feel welcome, right, or comfortable, so often avoid those situations, making things worse.

In fairness, if you met this person, knew about this, and took a moment to consider just what sorts of enjoyment this game has given him, chances are that hugging him would not be on your to-do list until you knew he had recently showered, and put on clean pants. And, chances are that you hugging him would leave him extremely shocked, confused, and probably angry. This kind of thing is a sort of taint that cannot easily be undone, and often perpetuates itself simply because of the inherent "wrongness' of the act. Even in America, there are a fair number of people who eventually get so steeped in hopelessness that they eventually stop trying to meet someone else and just settle for a few moments of happiness from any outlet they can find just to keep them from blowing their brains out.
