ptbptb
i went to the site but when i click "save file" nothing else comes up asking me where to save the file at... Are you using Firefox? Files saved from Firefox go to a default location without prompting. Check "Tools -> Options -> Main -> Save Files to" That is where saved files go to. You can change it to somewhere else by clicking 'browse'.
bben46
I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you. The sample mod does not need anything else to work. It works with unpatched games. If you can't get it to work, you may have to be an administrator on the computer. slygothmog
will using console comands mess anything up ... i leveled my character up and unlocked all the fast travel spots I have taken this paragraph straight from Oblivion Console - UESPWiki. Use console commands with caution! It is easily possible to mess up your game if you modify settings at the console. Even if short term the game functions normally, you may later discover that you have made it impossible to complete a quest and therefore you cannot proceed normally with game play; fixing that problem can then make new glitches pop up elsewhere. Create a permanent saved game before experimenting with the console. If you need to use the console to fix a glitch, try to use the least powerful command possible. hope this answers that question :) if you need to level up in relative safety try downloading http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13783 but only level up in short bursts ie 5 at at time, leave the shack, save then quit to desktop then re-load and this stops any CTD ( Crash To Desktop ) happening. I hav'nt had any probs useing this method.
