TacoBob5000
I have an idea for a mod buy the name of hammerfell grotto. it is a shop mod that takes place on the border of the map near solitude. the shopkeepers name should be Sally Sotto and she is a redguard who just set up shop there. If you are willing to make it please email me at [email protected].I would like the shop to be astetic so please try. also please include my name in the creators. THANK YOU-TacoBob5000 :)
Matth85
but i am not capable to create it Why not?
skyrimguyxx
Probably time restraints and lack of creative ability, like me. There is SOOOOO much i'd like to change about Skyrim. Like fixing Whiterun's walls in conjunction with Ultimate Whiterun...but i just don't have time for it. Helk i hardly have time to even load the game up. Matth85
This confuses me slightly. It's the second time I hear that today. If a person asks for a mod, that person indirectly states "I got time to play Skyrim". If one got time to play Skyrim, and have ideas for mods, one got time to learn. Who knows, suddently you become like the rest of us -- spend their time modding instead of playing games. What I am really wondering, is if "i am not capable of making it" rather means "I have not tried, nor will I ever try, to make it myself".Now, don't take it wrong. I'm not trying to be a douch, just questioning the logic around here. There are so many "I got a mod idea!" around, and none will ever get done. Ever. fore
And what confuses (rather amuses) me is that someone spends 2 lines to describe what he thinks is a "new mod idea", and then requests his name to be listed as "creator". Really funny.
lofgren
Sometimes requesters say they do not have the time to create a mod and then describe something with custom meshes and textures and scripts and quests and characters that would take a single person years to create (at least if that single person was me), and you go "OK, sure you don't have the time. Nobody has the time. A mod like that is a labor of love. Nobody is going to make it for you. And it's clear that you haven't taken even the first steps in determining what this would entail." But still you can't entirely blame them because it can't hurt to ask, right? But a store?
huntsman2310
I'm fine with the guy not wishing or being incapable or unwilling to learn the CK, but I just wish his idea of the shop's appearance went beyond 'aesthetic'. Aesthetic can mean anything.
Matth85
still you can't entirely blame them because it can't hurt to ask, right? Well, no.. and yes. I just don't get it. At what point does one go "aha! I got an idea that I have no skills to make happen, but I am probably the only individual with ideas! Since, you know, modders are idea-less creatures without creativity!"It just confuses me. Especially the ones who post a request, then never shows up again. What is the purpose? And how comes the ones requesting things done are always new people, with an average of 5 posts and with shabby english? It's like.... but.. I... you.. wha... urgh..... Everybody knows a request will never be done, and logic tells you that you should do it yourself, if you have a great idea. It's not like you need a lot of skills to make a shop. It takes 12 minutes to learn how to set it all up, an a day to do it. How is one not capable of doing that? hm......
Notanon81
I ended up making my own arrow refining mod because the only other one available followed a formula of using 24 normal arrows to make 22 fine arrows and so on, which I didn't agree with, and also didn't cover DLC options. Took quite a few hours of my time to manually add every single crafting recipe for the different levels in, but was quite satisfied with the outcome. At the moment, I'm even considering a rewrite of sorts using scripts to determine the arrows material type and tempering state, and then refine them according to marksman skill level and relevant smithing perks unlocked, using billets (originally considered arrowheads, but the idea of them was a bit murky, particularly with regards to DLC legality, so that approach is a no-go) at a fletching table. If I can set it up right, it could automatically allow for additional mods to be supported without needing to actively patch it as they arise. But yeah, quite a few tutorials kicking about now that you could follow to learn how to use the Creation Kit. I'd say just give it a go and then determine if it's truly for someone else to create or you can actually do it and have complete control on how it turns out.
