Felhunter
Hello everyone. As the title says - I'm very new to modding. I tried out modding for the first time with Oblivion about half a year back, but that wasn't much of a succes, and I dropped it because it just didn't work out. Recently however, I've been playing Fallout 3, and the new setting (post-apocalyptic wastelands etc) really encouraged me to start over. So - I looked up alot on the internet, youtube'd alot, downloadedalot of programs (Geck, Blender, Gimp, NifSkope, FFOM, etc....), but to be honest, it's all a bunch of chinese to me. All the tutorials I find are way too hard or complicated. One thing I managed to do (with help of a tutorial on youtube) was take the silencer from a 10mm weapon and shove it up the sniper rifle, placed the new weapon at the mine fields in the destroyed building, and when I tested it in-game, it did actually work. (silenced tutorial) Now, I've been trying to do some things since then, but it's just so hard, for example.I tried to create a weapon in Blender (couldn't even manage to create any decent shapes that remotely looked like any part of a gun) etc... Basically I'm wondering if anyone here would be kind enough to teach me some basics, such as creating a new weapon completely from scratch all the way until it's an actual mod.Like.. go trough the process with me over msn or something like that. Thanks in advance. :)
gsmanners
Blender is a very different interface for most people and requires a lot of practice to use. I would suggest you work your way through the official tutorial, then start asking for help with specific parts of objects you want to make.
