LHammonds
We never will have anything like that because we know that nobody will give a command of a huge force to a computer. No matter how much we improve AI its never ever and never will be perfect.I laugh in your general direction. ;D Army to deploy robots that shoot (2004) US General Demands Robot Army (2009) - Here is a recap of what the General (with an MIT degree in robotics) said: "he believed the current level of technology was advanced enough to overcome problems with autonomous robots shooting the wrong people." For some background information on these particular shooting robots on treads, they were designed to work in cooperation (autonomously) by covering ground and when one unit starts an engagement, the others start to circle in and "help out." This is what these reports are referring to when they mention "autonomous" activity vs "remote control" via a human. You can bet there are strong considerations for autonomy in order to avert the enemy from hacking into them remotely and using them against us. I sure hope they have some Mad Max explosives rigged to them to prevent tampering. hehehe. I also can't help but think about how an EMP burst can render the entire robotic force useless. :D LHammonds
