Redbeard007
I thought I had successfully posted my CTD issues on this forum but I could not locate it. I will repost what I am facing in my attempt to make my game playable again. I ran into a problem with fast travel from Solstheim to Skyrim. When I try to fast travel by clicking the map marker to return to Skyrim or when I try to pay the boatman for passage just after the load screens start then the first screen fades then CTD. I tried to start a new game and the game loads the initial load screen then CTD. I will attach my dxdiag log at the bottom of this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Georgiegril
Like some other folks around here, the recent web security climate has got me unwilling to download random files. However, if you would copy/paste the text file version of your BOSS log, as well as your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini, I may be able to help you.(Those would be needed for anyone to help.) To get the BOSS log to render in text, just open the BOSS GUI and select to have the log in text rather than html. Also, the spoiler tags can be found in the pull-down menu of the third icon to the left on the top toolbar. Redbeard007
I have decided to totally reinstall Skyrim from my original disk and when that is done STEAM will finish the basic Skyrim game install and the DLC that is in my owned list. When STEAM is finished I can play the game a few minutes and save. Exit the game and set up SKSE along with a few selected mods I already have on my storage drive for my selected games. If I am successful I will have my game back to where I played seemingly flawless game play for over 350 hours until this problem happened. I will put my efforts to work when STEAM is finished with the updating process. Thanks!
Lord Garon
FYI: A memory fix for Skyrim, SSME or SKSE Alpha 1.7.0, was tested by its author using the common Solstheim-->Skyrim CTD. Prevention of that CTD was one verification that the fix was working. You might add one or the other memory fixes if you have the issue after re-installing. Redbeard007
After I got my game totally reinstalled I have very few to no issues overall. I still get the very occasional CTD but nothing bad and rarely happens. Thanks for all of the help here!
