Tighter Controls Mod?

Would it be possible in future to modify the controls? I'm only asking because I know so little about modding. I think one of the worse changes has to be the controls, especially when it comes to direction. When locked off the controls don't respond fast enough when pointing in the direction you want to attack, making surprise attacks on enemies and opponents really difficult. I'd love it if there was a way to transport the controls from the original Dark Souls into this game.

I haven't tried this myself, but there's an XInput wrapper that should fix the analog deadzones if you're using a gamepad, here.
