Armour Dummies A La Morrowind: Possible?

Does anyone think that they could make armour dummies like some wonderful soul did in Morrowind? Basically it was a wooden dummy that once placed on the ground could be opened like a containter and whatever armour was added showed on the dummy. I'd love to see something like this for Oblivion, since I've realised my hoarding passion never quite went away and It's great to have somewhere to show the fruits of my hoarding. I believe there was also a version that showed a weapon and/or shield as well.

So, what say ye? Possible, impossible, probable, improbable?

(this came after half an hour trying to put a helmet onto a wooden 'head' stand and the same of trying to get a mace to fit in a weapon rack. >.<;)

Maybe harder to do than in Morrowind.

As I recall, there it was simply a "dead" NPC body positioned upright and wood textured. It was wierd to see them in different positions every time you left the room and came back...

When you "gave" an armor, weapon or clothing Item to an NPC in Morrowind, it would automaticaly wear the best one it had.

Same for the dead. if you "took all" from a body and then gave back some armor, the body would wear it.

I havn't specificaly tried it in Oblivian, but I 'think" when I dropped some useless clothing and crap armor into a corpses inventory, nothing happened. It remained naked.

Also, the ragdoll physics of corpses would make for a rather macabre displays of limp, armored bodies scatered on the floor... Oh neat! ;!

This might be possible by creating a NPC with a permanent paralysis effect on them. This way, they might stay in the same position after the player zones in or out. A script could be placed on the dummy actors to duplicate any item given to them, equip the item, and save a duplicate in their inventory. When an item is removed from their inventory, the duplicate is unequiped and removed as well.

I might look into working on this tomorrow afternoon, when I get out of my last class (ugh, physics II :()

Maybe hang the corpse by it's head from a stand or something? I've seen what the necromancers do to some of those corpses and I'm sure that if the physics allow for a corpse to be nailed to a wall, it should be able to be hung by a point in it's head.

Cool idea!

If it works, see if you can get one to hold a shield and wield a sword (a bow, etc...).

That would rock. I have a whole floor of a custom house I made lined with armor dummies in MW. I spent rediculous amounts of time just collecting the various sets from all over morrowind. ... and the pillows... Building the pillow igloo was fun. ;)

That last pauldron for Daedric armor was a pain. Finaly had to look up where it was on the net. It was hidden WAY to well.

Ohhh boy was it ever! I used to think shy of using the console, that there 'was' no other Dedric pauldron *chuckles*

but has this dummy idea ever made ground? Though Oblivion is 'leveled', I'd like to have on display all the iron, steel, orc, elven etc armor as well :)
