kalverec Posted May 16, 2014 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Okay, so this isn't a huge issue, but it is kind of annoying. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to fix this.So I downloaded a few mods and loaded up my skyrim game. I did a quest, and then checked out the mods. One I didn't like, so I exited the game, and deleted the mod. The mod I deleted just had some clothing items that I didn't like. Now when I try to access those saves, they display this message: "this save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading?". I can go and play the game just fine, but my issue is that none of my previous saves are close to this point in the game due to my stupidity. I just used the same file every time I saved. I tried accessing the autosave.ess.bak files but none of them were far enough back. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks in advance. kalverec Posted May 16, 2014 Author Share Posted May 16, 2014 ISSUE SOLVED. This is a tad embarrassing. lol The simplest thing was a fix. I just kept playing the game, made a new save, tried loading it after combat, and to my surprise, it didn't display the message anymore. To my embarrassment, the issue was solved. camaro_69_327 Posted May 16, 2014 Share Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) IF you saved the game while the mod was active...its a part of your save, IF it was just a texture mod, no worry just re-save (with teh mod UNinstalled), and that error will go away. IF it was a Script mod, the scripts are a part of the save now, even if you uninstall, the scripts stay...forever....That was then ...Now we have a way to actually clean a save from baked in scripts. The save cleaner does clean saves. lol..(closing barn door after horse is gone) Safe save practices....Overwrite a save 5 - 10 times, make a new save slot and move on, when you go up a level always move to a new slot. later if you find you have 1000's of saves weed out a few, keep the ones that went up a level...Been doing this since Arena/Daggerfall times....
