...with maximum settings (I hope this was the correct place to post this...) I am new to PC gaming altogether, so please bare with me. Here's a PC I ordered yesterday, and I was told by numerous people it would run Oblivion flawlessly, and actually a lot of games out now:

2.66Ghz Intel Core i5-750 8MB Cache Quad-Core

Stock Intel LGA775 Heatsink and Fan

GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3R(Intel P55, 2xPCI-E, 8-Ch Audio, LAN, 8xSATA2, 4xDDR3, 1394)

8GB (4GBx2) PC3 12800 DDR3 1600Mhz Memory Lifetime Warranty

750GB 7200RPM 32MB Cache Serial ATA300 (Samsung)

22X LG Dual Layer DVD+/-RW/CDRW w/Nero

1GB ATI Radeon HD4870 GDDR5 PCI-E Dual-DVI (Major Brand)

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Antec Black Nine Hundred Two (6 5.25, 6 3.5 bays) 4 Fans, Front Audio/USB/eSATA

650watt Antec EarthWatts EA650

Onboard LAN included

Onboard Sound included

Standard 1 year parts and labor

Ignore features such as the case, I copied and pasted. So I just need to know if that would run the game at max. I also plan on downloading a lot of mods for the game, but nothing to expansive, no new areas, quests, or anything like that. Just weapons, armor, spells, character appearance improvements, etc. :thanks:

I don't know about max (resolution?) but I expect you should get a much better fps than I do even at 1024 x 768 (I have to use 800 x 600 and my fps is pretty sucky).

Okay thanks man. Buy max I meant maximum settings such as effects, shadows, etc. I just want my game to look great, it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect, just the highest quality the game has to offer. I considered (once I obtain the computer/game :P) downloading Qarl's Texture Pack 3 to make it look better, but I wanted to know if the game could handle that and max out at 60 fps. Btw I may not be making much sense since I'm new to gaming and I'm not familiar with much of the terminology.

As for the resolution, could you or someone else recommend a great monitor (not too expensive if that's possible) for my specs? Actually if someone could explain how the resolution "works" to me that would be great. I'm a complete noob at this point.

With that machine, you should be able to max out Oblivion. Even with resolution up to 1920 x 1200 on a 24" monitor.

(Resolution is measured in the number of pixels on the screen ie. 1920 x 1200 = 2,304,000 pixels)

Alright, thanks. Could you recommend me a great monitor within the $200 price area that is at least close to that? Some speakers also if that's possible. Thanks again.

1900x1200 preferably...but it's hard to find...almost all of them around are 1080 :wallbash: It doesn't look all that bad, but meh...

This is pretty nice, getting this in the mail soon :) Good deal
