I did some reading on the Imperial Library. From Battlespire:

"Fire Daedroth 1: This is our party! The Shade Perilous is the sweetest delicacy in Nocturnal realm, and it now belongs to the Fire Daedra! Our master shall feast with us forever within its darkened splendor!"

Apparently Nocturnal's realm was attacked by Dagon before.

Here's a couple more quotes, make what you will.

"Dremora 7: Yes. Faydra unleashed her Fire Daedra and Xivilai's unchained his Frost Daedra, granting them free rein to lay waste to this precious corner of the Nocturnal realm. They relished the chance to revenge themselves on their ancient enemies, the Nocturnals."

From Battlespire

"Dremora 7: One who would free your friend must gain the secret of passage from Shade Perilous to the Chimera of Desolation through the fugitive, the Nocturnal Lieutenant, Jaciel Morgen."

From Battlespire

"Deyanira Katrece: I can feel my Mistress again. But I sense she has become dispirited by her deep loss. It is very much in the nature of Nocturnals to pine and mourn, even beyond the purpose of such grief. They nurse their misery in their bosom until their sorrow takes on a life of its very own. Until weeping is all there is. Until all the seas of tears run dry."\

From Battlespire

"For none should laugh outright

At the Daedra Lord Nocturnal.

Without her gray Cowl of shadowed Night,

Her hideous Face forced the Moons

To hide themselves.

Hrormir the mighty did not quail."

From Song of Hrormir

"As the book prescribed, I called to her on her holy day, the 3rd of Hearth Fire. At last, I had found the personal mistress I had so long desired. I strove to understand her labyrinthine philosophy, the source of her mysterious pain. Everything about her was dark and shrouded, even the way she spoke and the acts she required of me.

It took years for me to understand the simple fact that I could never understand Nocturnal. Her mystery was as essential to her as savagery was to Boethiah or treachery was to Molag Bal. To understand Nocturnal is to negate her, to pull back the curtains in her realm of darkness. As much as I loved her, I recognized the futility of unravelling her enigmas. Azura is the only Daedra Prince I have ever worshipped who seems to care about her cultists. Molag Bal wanted my mind, Boethiah wanted my arms, and Nocturnal -- perhaps my curiousity."

From Invocation of Azura

"Vampirism comes up as a very interesting addition to your study. Think for a second about Nocturnal. Nocturnal, whose sphere is the night and darkness; who is known as The Night Mistress. It is pretty clear that vampires play favorites with The Night Mistress. How could they not!? Meridia, being a "wayward solar daughter", could hardly be a friend to vampires. However, the "bending" of light; creation of illicit magic, could be a hint as to an allowance for vampires to walk in daylight, leading to the expulsion from the heavens. Of course, this "act" was cut short since sunscreen is still needed for vampires, but that is an idea. A bad one, but one nonetheless. "

From A Treatise on Meridia

"Dark Seducers can be found in the Shade Perilous, in the Chimera of Desolation, in the Havok Wellhead and around Mehrunes Dagon's Hunting Lodge. Normal Seducers can be found in the Shade Perilous and in the Havok Wellhead. They are dangerous in groups. Dremora can be found in the Battlespire and in the Shade Perilous. Fire Daedra can be found in the Shade Perilous and in the Chimera of Desolation. Frost Daedra can be found in the Shade Perilous and in the Chimera of Desolation."

From Battlespire Bestiary (I think these daedra might only be in Shade Perilous when Dagon invaded, except for maybe the dark and normal seducers.

"'I am in a storm,' he told me as he entered the next realm. He described the landscape of dark twisted trees, howling spirits, and billowing mist, and I thought he might have entered the Deadlands of Mehrunes Dagon. But then he said quickly, 'No, I am no longer in a forest. There was a flash of lightning, and now I am on a ship. The mast is tattered. The crew is slaughtered. Something is coming through the waves ... oh, gods ... Wait, now, I am in a dank dungeon, in a cell ...'

He was not in the Deadlands, but the nightmare realm of Nocturnal. Every few minutes, there was a flash of lightning and reality shifted, always to something more horrible and horrifying. A dark castle one moment, a den of ravening beasts the next, a moonlit swamp, a coffin where he was buried alive. Fear got the better of my master, and he quickly passed to the next realm."

From The Doors of Oblivion (This might be Vaermina's realm or Nocturnal's)

Does that stuff help get a better picture of this?

Don't recall the cloak having been stolen as well.

Anyway, she's a Daedric prince. Her cowls might just regenerate.

Also (no one flame, please), she's a lady. Do you know a lady with only one outfit? She probably has a closet full of hooded cloaks.

We may have a few problems. Here's a picture of Shade Perilous from Battlespire.

Here's a picture of Shade Perilous from my head.

Your options are: I get to start over ( :( ), or we pretend that first picture never existed ( )

We pretend the first picture never existed. Why?

1. Bethesda ignores the way things look in the old games all the time.

2. Which of the two looks like a realm which no light would enter? It looks really bright in the old one.

3. "Daedra are the embodiment of change, change and permanency, and I (and therefore Nocturnal) am no different."

4. There's that temporal anomaly I kept going on about in the first half. Remember, I used chronomancy

as a plot point, that means we can cheat! Nocturnal's realm may look different because, and as I had to

specifically state for McGuffin purposes, the Daedric Princes themselves would be affected by it (and thus

not notice the change). So, I will call the cheat code of temporal anomaly here. (Bethesda did it first!)

Now, as for the clothes, I'm just going to go ahead and say that the

cowl and cloak are separate artifacts. Why? Mainly because, the Grey Cowl

looks nothing like a hood and the book "Purloined Shadows" mentions that

specifically when she removes the cloak she is naked. That implies a full

body covering outfit. She definitely has more than one outfit (as she'd be

crazy not to, considering how often her stuff gets stolen.)

As for what monsters will be around, well, I'm sure we'll have a variety,

but it is mainly Azura's servants vs. the Nocturnals. Some seducers and daedra

may be brought into battle as tanks/fodder, but the idea is the army is mainly

comprised of Dremora because of the civil war that I'm implying has started

while they (the other Princes) divvy up the Deadlands and Dagon's armies.

Also, the re-textured weapons look great! I'll package

that furniture resource and PM when I have.
