Rise of Ouroboros: Crusade

The enabling/disbling parts of the dungeon will be controlled by a quest script to make sure there's full control over the entire thing. The problem is, really, making it look somewhat better than simply having a wall pop up.

The SI floor traps with a wall texture applied seem to do the job though. :P

Zprospero, I don't know much about texturing/modeling myself, so I'd best not try it. See if you can map it so it doesn't tile so much, say, 3-4 tiles per side instead.

My own ideas for the nightmare: A small classical Oblivion dungeon, fort ruin with a huge pile of gold at the end of a tunnel. As the player moves towards it, he hits a triggerbox which opens a hole beneath him, falling into a cylinder textured with sky. (A cylinder so he thinks he';s actually falling; just putting him afew stories up makes him look like he's standing still.)

No, but that'd be very funny.

I saw a horror game once that tried to make the player believe

things were going wrong with their system. Going to a blank screen,

you could still move and interact but you couldn't see or hear anything,

and there was lots of eerie sound effects. If I can remember the name

I'll look up some of the gimmicks and see if we could emulate one or two.

It'd be especially nice if we could freak out the players themselves somehow.

But I leave it up to Argomirr. I'm sure the place will be awesome.

I've found that just randomly playing a loud screaming sound, like the ones in the 'find the ghost' pics, then not doing anything really creeps out the player. They expect something to happen after the scream and then freak out waiting for it. It never comes. :)

Well, I can't start on Hircine's Realm 'til later, as I just got the new Borderlands DLC.. It shouldn't take long, it being mostly wilderness.

Seeing as how all the places the player encounters Hircine have been frozen (Mortrag GLacier), I'm thinking a tundra forest, spots of snow and such, with huge bears and wolves. I'm also thinking of having some ghosts wandering around, innocent souls killed in the Rite of the Wolf-Giver. Also some ascended Glenmoril Coven witches. Just dress them up in Zealot robes. Sound good?

Working on the ruin's layout a bit first... It's supposed to be large and confusing.

I'm currently going crazy with stairs. It's gonna be so confusing when parts of cease to exist and pop back into reality at random.

It's also gonna be confusing when I try to script this...

[EDIT]I think I got carried away a bit with the stairs...

Yes, nearly all of that is stairs, stairs and more stairs and all of them are connected, though you won't know where it's gonna lead you.
