CTD + Missing Textures

Hello,

 

I really want to use Skyrim Mod Combiner but there are some problems that come along with it. When I installed SMC and open up skyrim it works fine but after lets say a few minutes it gets a CTD. Also when I fast travel to cities it CTD. I know that this problem is because of memory but I know that it can be fixed by tweaking skyrim.ini, skyrimprefs.ini, SSME, ENBoost, .... . But I tried everything but I can't get it to work. I also read a lot of guides to help you tweaking but can't get it to work :/ I know that this is possible but I am not a great computer expert to tweak everything on my own :/

 

Someone maybe have some advice for me?

I don't see anything really distressing in your config files. If you think its a memory issue from textures, disable a couple, especially LOD/Distant textures/4k textures, and see if the CTD changes. Post a BOSS log and we can look for mod problems.

 

I have no experience with SMC; have you checked the SMC Mod Page comments/posts for your issue? Texture files, themselves, don't usually cause CTD's, but a large number of Hi-res textures cause other issues. Really need that BOSS log.

 

EDIT - Removed SSME recommendation, didn't read OP carefully enough.

I contacted one of the makers of the mod but they aren't really friendly they adviced me to tweak my ini files and all sorts of other things but like you said everything is alright with my config files I am a bit dissapointed in them :/

 

About my load order I use LOOT instead of boss so I posted my LOOT log and to be honest SMC uses really high textures (well I chose alot of 4k textures) so maybe the problem is that I use to much Hi-res.

Note: Climates of Tamriel - Dungeones is enabled and the other mod is not active and SPIKE.esm isn't required anymore for the hothtrooper armor compilation + I see that there are some dirty edits that need to be removed but I don't think that will be the issue of getting CTD's

I haven't used LOOT yet, so I don't know for sure, but that load order just looks strange to me (patches before the mods they patch, etc). Plus, check back on your CoT patches; you may have some extra's in there.

 

Nothing against LOOT (it IS the future), but I would save the LOOT log, get the latest BOSS, run BOSS GUI, select Trial Run, and see how the load order compares to LOOT. If there are major differences, I would use the BOSS load order (unselect Trial Run and run BOSS) to see if it affects your problem.

I selected the trial run but then I won't recieve the log for some reason but here is my boss load order without the Trial Run (even when I click on View BOSS log it still wont show up)

EDIT: Noticed that sometimes textures disapear didn't mentioned it in my first post. Sometimes they disapear then they reappear (for an example blood turns into black and some books are some kind of pink but sometimes they just reappear I don't why this is happening :/)

If you happened to have downloaded BOSS 2.3.0 early on, there was a problem with the early package which causes blank log screens. Just download BOSS again and re-install it.

 

Okay, at least the BOSS log looks familiar. At this moment in time, I trust the BOSS Masterlist more than the category sort of LOOT (still in beta) because the Masterlist has been developed with actual compatibility input from mod authors and users. Its not perfect, but it does a fairly good job.

 

You have a lot of mods which do duplicate things. For instance, Relighting Skyrim is NOT compatible with RLO and you have several sound mods. Is Immersive Sounds compatible with all the others? You may need to go back through all your mod page Descriptions and Readme's to ensure your mods are all compatible with each other. I think you only need the "sounds" versions of the SOS-CoT patches, since you have CoT-sounds installed. Also, is the conflict with CoT - RLO dungeons resolved correctly? For some reason, I think that ClimatesOfTamriel-Dungeons-Hazardous.esp should NOT be active if RLO is installed.

 

The unrecognized plugins can usually be sorted by checking their mod page for load order info, or using BASH or TES5EDIT to check dependencies. BASH can really be your friend here. A "perfect" load order will have all green boxes down the left side of the Mods tab. A "good" load order may have orange boxes. A "broken" load order will have red boxes. Look to the right on the Mods tab (you may have to pull some sizing widgets down to see it) for the Masters list; it will show what's missing or "out-of-order" for the selected plugin. NOTE: Skyrim can deal with most out-of-order Masterfiles and plugin record changes, but associated data files (bsa priority) may cause issues.

 

You might want to look at some of Gophers videos on modding Skyrim.

 

Did you try playing with the BOSS sorted order? Give it a shot; can't be much worse than the LOOT order you were using. Once we get a working load order, we can tweak it.

Robo: Are your sure you installed it correctly. You can see how Gopher isntalls it at 3.25 in the video. It is a pretty simple mod and I never had any trouble with it. Are you sure you don't confuse it with the memory patch?

The BOSS log is functioning again as I reinstalled it. What I have done now is uninstalling Skyrim relightning because you said it wasn't compatible with RLO. I then have checked for the immersive sound mods and they are compatible with the mods I have (only it changes the lockpicking vallue of SkyRe but they said it isn't a major problem) they actually wont say where I should place there mods into my load order :/ about the SoS-CoT patches I don't know what you mean which ones I need to activate and which ones I don't need to. I also deactivated Climates of Tamriel - Hazardous and activated the RLO - Dungeones instead.

 

About the few unrecognized mods I cannot find them immediatly on the nexus because the mods are from SMC they can be one of the many mods that SMC uses to combine I gonna take a deeper research to sort out which esp file belongs to which mod. (And If I really have to I gonna try and download and combine every single mod at one single time and not combining every mod in one time if you know what I mean :tongue:) About BASH and TES5EDIT I am not very familliar with those programs ( Only TES5EDIT for cleaning but nothing more) I gonna try and check out some videos about it. :smile:

 

And I tested it with BOSS and still CTD. I have a back up save and it starts right outside the Twilight Sepulcur I just walk around a bit then after few minutes I get CTD also when I fast travel to cities I also get a CTD only interior arenas work perfectly.

I am sure that I installed it correctly. I saw gophers video about it a while ago and I checked it again. I just installed it with NMM then I checked the config file from memory blocks and everything was alright according to Gophers vid.

Alrighty... The memblocks info is good news. Could still be a load order issue, or your savegame might have issues from previously uninstalled mods.

 

I'd like you to try something in BASH. Fire it up and click on the Saves tab. If there is no Saves tab, right-click on the Mods tab itself and tick Saves to enable it. Most/all your saves will probably have orange boxes due to the new BOSS load order and may be red due to removing the lighting mod. Find your Twilight save and select it. Right-click on it and select List Masters. Besides the little pop-up, BASH will also copy that list to the clipboard and you can just paste it in Notepad to save it or just paste it into your next reply here. The brackets around the xml tags seem to confuse the forum; before you hit Post, just delete the

[xml] at the beginning and the [/xml] at the end, including the brackets.
