papabear1uk
I am having problems following instructions on something i stumbled across recently and am hoping if there is anyone out there that may be able to help... Basically i found some instructions to open the games Console Command and "tinker" with certain elements (http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dragonage/hints.html) but am not able to find the daorigins.exe file. I am running with XP service pack 3, and received the game at Xmas, (from a local game store) but cannot find any version number or anything in-game or out, so i have no idea wether the problem is the version, the OS, or something else completely. I was hoping to enlist the help of someone that knows a little more about this sort of stuff to give me a guiding hand... I have looked and looked in the bin_ship folder and not seen any trace of the DAOrigins.exe file, despite having my OS settings to show hidden files. Please help, as i am getting no-where fast and could do with a little tweak here and there to help me along!
eezergoode
Do you have it set to also show the file extensions? I know it seems like a stupid question, but the file should be in the bin-ship folder so the only other thing I can imagine is that it is there and you aren't seeing it because it is simply showing up as daorigins without the .exe extension.... papabear1uk
How would i do that? I cant seem to find that option in tools>folder options... am i looking in the wrong place? (remember i'm on XP, so may not have this option if its normally associated with Vista or 7)
Davtch7
When looking at the Folder Option, look under the advanced settings you should see " Hide extensions for known file types " It's normally checked by default... Remove the check mark and hit apply.. Then you should see the file extensions...
