I restart the game alot, especially after downloading a bunch of new mods. Getting money can be a pain, particularly when wanting fast sums for buying a mods armor or whatever. One of the mods I've got, is Colourwheels Servants clothing. That gear is free, of course. I thought it would be cool to be able to take advantage of it, by being the servant... either as a bar maid, or someones house maid, for money and maybe a roof. One of the things I enjoyed in Fallout, was the slavers roaming around. But I was dissapointed that they had no interest in captivating the player. Is there anyone here, who is both interested and has the know-how to create something like this? :P

 

Also, someone made a gallows as a modders resource. Has anyone actually used it?

Well theres always Big Business.It lets you run Lord Drads Estate after you finish the quest for Malacoths Shrine

There's a mod which lets you deliver for the black hourse courier. And then as said above big buisness. There is also a farming mod to make money off of the land, but that is alot of hard work.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have downloaded big business anyway, and I looked at the farm mods and courier. To be honest, it's not entirely what I was looking for... As mentioned, I was looking for something that would make sense, when starting a new game, fresh out of prision. I'm basically looking for something in which I can take advantage of the Colourwheels Servants outfits (or slave types), and actually be the servant, making money from it. Say, for example, if you were to work at an inn, you get paid to be at work throughout the day, and to prevent one from just "waiting" it out, you earn tips per customer you serve. If you were someones personal servant, you get payed to work the day, without tips... but the daily rate is higher than that of the inn, but well short of what you could potentially earn. Even creating a strip club, and being one of the girls... or a prostitution mod, in which you actually earn money and see animations (instead of the usual get nothing and... well, get/see nothing approach).

 

I've looked around alot the past few days, and nothing seems to fit with what I'm trying to describe. It all seems to be things you can do, when you're already a well-established fighting machine. Is it possible for someone to actually make this? If you need conceptual designs, I can sketch them for you. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole mod-making thing, but creating characters seems to be easy enough, so I can help there also. When it comes to actually creating places, positioning things, writing scripts, I'm lost and need help! lol

 

I'm also "trying" to work on a mod with someone else, which basically adds a unique assassins/fighters guild with a religious edge (called pergatory), and takes advantage of cm partners and elves of lineage II. We were also looking to have things like workable gallows executions, in which the player could be captivated and executed also, if caught... as well as ritualistc sacrifices. Even a new land. But we're both pretty much in the same boat in terms of figuring the editor out.

 

Anyone interested in either of these two mods, if not both? I know everybodies been there before, with figuring this stuff out, and everybodies probably getting ready to tap the reply button, and send "FFS, do it yourself!" Any help would be appreciated though, :).

Well, if you're looking for a way to make your character turn tricks and get paid, the SPS mod is a nice, simple mod that does just that. I don't know exactly how much you get, but I seem to recall it's a nice bit of cash for a starting character. No animations, but the text descriptions are pretty explicit, although almost tasteful (well, corectly spelled, anyway, and what more could you reasonably expect?).

You know what Ill make a servant mod.Ill start it off in one of the castles and at first you have to start off as a maid/cleaner.Every day youll get a new assignment so in total youll have 7 different tasks.Maybe on the first day you have to clean up the dining room or you have to clean up the duungeons by removing all of the spiderwebs and scrubbing all the blood from the cells.When you finish the tasks you will find a sack full of gold coins Id say that 250 gold coins would be appropriate for one day plus some mead and wine.After that you then could also be a cook/butcher.This would involve having to set up dinner and even having to kill some pigs or boars for meat.Youd also have to go out to the fields or to the local market and buy some vegetables like corn and such.And maybe you could also become a delivery boy delivering news and letters and such to people around the cityand maybe some other local inns and taverns that are located nearby and you would be penalized for fast travel.It may not be the best mod out there but I would enjoy being able to make some easy money.When I started playing Oblivion I looked for mods that give you jobs as well and couldnt really findy and good ones other than Big Business and to me SPS seems just lame.Ill get started on this right after my finals next week .

I'm working on a mod for a working smithy. You first open up a workshop. Then you have to collect a certain amount of ore, then take it back to your workshop. There will be an an anvil.

You activate the anvil, and if you have a hammer, and iron ore(basically that's a gold nugget, re-texed) It will be turned into a metal bar. Then you use the bar on the furnace and it will be made into a sword.

 

Would this count as work for you?
